I definitely agree that Romita can draw young women in a very cute matter, though I do think their faces tend to look too similar to each other:

We're definitely on the same page. Romita, Sr. certainly knows how to draw the ladies.

That is one of the biggest missed oportunitys of the X-Men is that they could not keep Paul Smith on the book longer. I wish he would have had a 5 year run on Uncanny he was just that good.

Not just how it's drawn, but how Uncanny X-Men #173 is laid out as well. I mean, even so much as a hallway scene looks cool:

Agreed. The creative team really upped their game in making a most memorable and thrilling end to the series.

Not just how it's drawn, but how Uncanny X-Men #173 is laid out as well. I mean, even so much as a hallway scene looks cool:

Just like those Wolverine vs the Silver Samurai pages I linked. It was the same issue and had 3 or 4 full pages of just Wolverine and the Samurai fighting with no dialogue, but it still felt so epic. You could feel the brutality just flowing off the page and tell these two men were trying to kill each other.

Whigham is always a favorite, my first Joe comics was issue #41.
Good memories of his run; I was officially hooked with #49 and it lasted thru #110.
Loved Serpentor's interaction with CC in issue #52.

This one will be an odd and obscure one, but I vaguely remember flipping thru the color reprints of the Eastman & Laird Ninja Turtles books at Waldenbooks. They would sit on the shelf for years...like luggage. This was in `88 thru `90 and they were always there. Never got into the Mirage series.
The Archie line? I dunno what it was, but I was hooked at issue #3.
Ken Mitchroney had a look that is hard to describe. Kind of had a Looney Tunes look to it.
