    (You do know who the Justice Society of America was, don't you?)
    I tend to get the exact roster conflated with the All-Star Squadron, which seemed to incorporate all of the Justice Society, and a bunch of other people (like Firebrand and Amazing Man and Johnny Quick, etc.). Given how much they swapped people between teams, I'm horrible at keeping track of who was or was not on each team.

    Still, I tend to think of Justice Society members who weren't also replicated in the Justice League first, like Wildcat and Thunderbolt and Dr. Midnight, over the various Kryptonians, Amazons, speedsters and power ring users. It's just a quirk of mine. Nothing wrong with liking Alan Scott or Jay Garrick or Kal-L, and hopefully my having preferences different than yours isn't coming off as an attack on yours, because that wasn't the intention!

    Also the cover of Adventure Comics 462 is still one of my favourite.
    As for voting for favourites, I can’t really as I like all the original Golden Age characters and would also include the All-Star Squadron members as well.
    I'm assuming you mean you would include them among your favorite characters and not as members of the JSA.

    Some people on these boards have expressed confusion over what the difference is between the two teams and seemed to think all the members of the All-Star Squadron were also members of the JSA.

    It's really quite simple.
    Think of a circle. A circle is a shape. However, not all shapes are circles.

    The Justice Society of America was a specific team of superheroes in a comic book published by DC back in the 1940s. But not all superheroes published by DC back in the 1940s were members of the Justice Society of America.

    As for the All-Star Squadron, Roy Thomas wanted to tell stories that used ALL the superheroes that DC published during the 1940s, as well as heroes that were not originally published by DC but were later acquired by DC. All those superheroes, including members of teams like the JSA and the Seven Soldiers of Victory, became part of a super-mega-group called the All-Star Squadron, and were specifically given a name including "All-Star" because the Golden Age stories of the JSA were published in the comic book All Star Comics.

    Actually, since the JSA was developed / published before the JLA, heroes like Wonder Woman and (a) Flash weren't "in the Justice League first", though you may have read about them in the Justice League before discovering the JSA.

    Who you like (or don't like) is your own preference / business.
    I just get bothered when people don't have the facts right.

    Not to much change since last time the votes were counted, though there has been some shifting of results:
    * The Flash (Jay Garrick) = 19 votes (+1)
    * Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) = 17 votes (+4)
    * Green Lantern (Alan Scott) = 16 votes (+1)
    * Power Girl (Karen Starr / Kara Zor-L) = 15 votes (+2)
    * Huntress (Helena Wayne) = 13 votes (+2)
    * Black Canary (Dinah Drake Lance) = 12 votes (+2)
    * The Sandman (Wesley Dodds) = 11 votes (+1)
    and now tied with Sandman,
    * Wildcat (Ted Grant) = 11 votes

    Next closest would be the Golden Age version of Robin (Dick Grayson), who officially became a full member as an adult (back in the Silver Age). Golden Age Robin only had 9 votes at last check, while the others on the poll had slightly less than that.

    I'm surprised at the amount of love for Kent!

    Dr. Fate has been popular for a while now.

    I'm surprised that Hawkman's support has been a bit weak in the early voting.

    I guess this poll is closed now. If I had voted, I'd probably have voted for Hawkman and Robin given the publishing window of 1940 - 1998. There are other characters that got better development as Justice Society members after 1998, but I would not have counted those comics in this publishing window.

    Also I wouldn't take into account what these characters did outside the Justice Society. It's about what they brought to the group as members. Flash and Wildcat had lots of good stories on their own or teamed up with other characters but, before 1999, there weren't that many Justice Society stories where they stood out for me.
