Default East of West ending this year

I noticed East of West #43 and 44 had disappeared off the Coming Soon pages on Image.com.
I tweeted Hickman asking about it, and he surprisingly responded very quickly. Said the final issues would all be coming out this year, they wanted them released in consecutive months. I'm guessing September - December, final four issues?

I'm a little behind on the series, but yes, the current storyarc is the final part. As for finishing this year, I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm hoping it has a conclusive finish and doesn't just sort of trail off like Manhattan Projects did. I love that series but it just sort of stopped.

surprised and disappointed, it is my favorite Image title right now, I love the world that it built and am sad to see it go. More overly I am surprised to see it go since it was optioned as a tv pilot so kind strange to cut off the source material if it is a hit show.

    Final issue came out yesterday.

Regarding comments in this thread: It did finish this year. It was a conclusive ending. It was always planned to run about 50 issues.

Jeeze louise, I'm so far behind (I think on the 4th or 5th tpb). Need to catch up and then finish when final vol comes out!

...also may need a refresher lol.
Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. -- Grant Morrison, 2008

I bought the first 12 issues, then sold everything because I had the feeling this series doesn't work for me in a monthly format. I hope there will be an omnibus or maybe a two part collected edition...

What did everyone think? I’ve not kept up to date, I stopped after reading Year 2.

One of the best Image books, sad to see it go. A satisfying ending.

Does anyone have any idea when the final trade will be released? Looking forward to a re-read of this series.

It was very satisfying. I'm glad Dragotta has another project coming because I love his art.

I liked it a LOT feel it could have gone on another 50 issues, lots of character I would have liked to hear more from, but I guess Hickman is so tied down with all things mutants he decided better to end it than stringing people along for years at a time.

I liked the world building of this comics fair share. But I haven't been able to invest myself on the Horsemen of Apocalypse. It has some interesting premise and background for sure but it didn't hook me up with the concepts behind them.

I haven't finished this book yet but the concept behind beast of the apocalypse isnt really enticing
