Thoughts:

- JJ Abrams and his son working on Spider-Man doesn't really get me hyped, but it should be interesting to see what their approach is and the probable attention the mini will get. Feels like a revival of the concept behind why they gave McFarlane a "Spider-Man" title back in the day. Plus, Sara Pichelli and Mary Jane .

- "Venom and Spider-Man have to deal with the hard truth" Yeah, but which Spider-Man? "Venom and Spider-Man realize that the only way to beat him is to do the same" Yeah, BUT WHICH SPIDER-Man!?

- Interesting seeing Spencer do a tie-in. Curious to see what his take on Carnage is like. Also nice to see Peter actually being relevant to this story.

- Somebody actually remembers Carnage USA .

- Demogoblin is a woman now? Wonder what they want with Misty Knight.

- Who would Carnage send after of Peter's friends that he would actually know about? John Jameson? Kafka's dead...Black Cat? She seems to be in this story.

- Hey, Danny Ketch is back! I guess with Johnny in Mephisto's seat Danny gets to be the new, main, motorcylce-ridin' Ghost Rider.

- I feel like this is the second or third "original wielder of the Symbiote" pre-Venom that we've seen.

- Ooh! An MJ focused issue in FNSM? Count me in .

- "LIVING THROUGH" kinda weird emphasis on Living. Could Otto's savior rest in his old pal the Living Brain?

- I wonder what Mary Jane's "recent decision" refers to...a proposal of her own? A new career? Sounds like a big deal.

- Seeing Peter in Miles' book is kind of weird for me. Like, it kind of breaks the illusion so to speak of Miles in his own corner when Peter shows up. I'm just not sure what you can really do with Peter there to be honest.

- Black Cat and an FF break-in? I sense there will be plenty of flirting with Johnny.

- So on that Gwen cover...Peter, Miles, Jessica, and 616 Jackal...is that 616 Aunt May too? I guess that means Em Jay is the only character from Gwen's Earth on the cover.

- Is that Robbie on the cover of the Velocity issue? Is he going to be making his first on-screen appearance in the PS4 universe in a tie-in comic? I really don't know how I feel about that.

- Maybe it's just me, but I wonder if they're trying to re-focus the Spider-Characters to be closer together now. Peter's showing up in Miles' book, Miles is interacting with someone from Peter's world in his Absolute Carnage tie-in, a bunch of spiders seem to be flocking towards Gwen's book.

The previous issue, #28 is a Kingpin issue and he's Mayor.

"Recent decision" that upsets Peter's life sounds a lot more than just a breakup. I mean a breakup would hurt Peter emotionally but it wouldn't actually change the life he has right now.

I think it's a career choice, and I think the career choice is that...Mary Jane is going into politics and she's going to challenge Fisk, and as part of her campaign, it's brought media attention to Peter and others, which would definitely complicate his life and also paint a target on her. I guess Spencer might take inspiration from Cynthia Nixon's attempt to challenge Andrew Cuomo, and other women getting into politics recently and MJ being a former model, actress, business-executive and so on, can actually make that jump and she has a history of activism in comics already.

I might dodge the Carnage ASM tie-ins so I don't feel like a total jackass buying two tie-in issues to an entire event (Champions already made me feel that way, because that just had to put plot-critical scenes in a separate mini. ) So I HOPE Lord Spencer doesn't put anything important to his stuff in those two issues, he didn't during his other short tie-in runs like his two Iron Man 2.0 Fear Itself issues, but I'd still be breaking my all Spencer, all the time rule and would therefore break out into hives, alongside other symptoms of toxic Spencerian withdrawal. I need my hookup.

Saladin recently tweeted about finally getting the opportunity to write JJJ in one of his stories, so I'm thinking him. It would add more context to why Miles was specifically tangling with Scorpion in the first issue.

I am feeling positive. Now I am.not going to ssy tje marrisge will be restored with Annie on the way. But the way MJ is being shown in various books is a good sign.
