    Default New Red Sonja/Vampirella ongoing!

    https://www.newsarama.com/45581-vamp...s-ongoing.html

Red Sonja and Vampirella are in a new ongoing team book! It takes place shortly after Vampi comes to Earth, and a young Sonja is pulled out of time. I'm super excited for this, I've been enjoying the last few years of great stories for Red Sonja and Vampirella. I can't believe we will be having two titles with Red Sonja and Vampi as leads! And I did double check, they told me on Twitter, this is an ongoing! This is going to be fun! (I also enjoyed the Vampi/Dejah mini, bring on more Woman of Dynamite crossovers haha).

    Pulls:
Lion Forge: Summit, Seven Days, All CPU Titles. Humanoid: Omni, Ignited, All H1U Titles. Marvel: Runaways, Agents of Atlas. DC: Doom Patrol, Young Justice. Valiant: Livewire, Doctor Mirage. Dynamite: Vampirella, Red Sonja, Vampirella/Red Sonja, Vengeance of Vampirella.

Sometimes, I wonder what Dynamite means in terms of "ongoing".

More than just six issues? (I'm sure sales will also be a determining factor.)

Well I know they have a history of short series, but I remain hopeful. Vampi and Sonja have always had some kind series going on, so I'm hopeful that will bring this success.

Plus the editor said this in the article:

This is the first time Vampirella and Red Sonja will be together in an ongoing series, and it’s been CRAZY cool to see what Jordie's got planned for the long haul here, and how Drew, Rebecca and Becca are visualizing it.
Long haul and ongoing seem like positive words, so as long as sales are good, I'm sure they will keep it.

Lion Forge: Summit, Seven Days, All CPU Titles. Humanoid: Omni, Ignited, All H1U Titles. Marvel: Runaways, Agents of Atlas. DC: Doom Patrol, Young Justice. Valiant: Livewire, Doctor Mirage. Dynamite: Vampirella, Red Sonja, Vampirella/Red Sonja, Vengeance of Vampirella.

Ive enjoyed the last few Red Sonja runs. Havnt really read Vampirella since Nancy Collins, but im planning on checking out Priest run.

Will probably try this too as i've been greatly enjoying Jordie Bellaires Redlands.

    This, exactly this.

I'm still waiting on Turok #4 to hit.
    Issue #1 - Jan 19
    Issue #2 - Feb 19
    Issue #3 - Apr 19
    Issue #4 - ??????(July 19 pending)
    Issue #5 - ??????(Aug 19 pending)

I feel like after several floundering attempts at Turok over the last 5 years they finally hit on a version that has potential. However, like most Dynamite output they are squandering it away.

Agreed about Turok, however Vampi and Sonja are different. They are leading characters for them, I dont recall ever having a delay for their series, though I could just be forgetful. So I don't think something like that would happen for this series. I could be wrong, but I guess only time will tell. But they always seem to put their best on Vampi and Sonja.

Think back to Gail Simone's run on Red Sonja.

Here's the dates for the last three issues (according to comics.org and Dynamite):
    #16 = 05/27/2015 (originally solicited for March 4th)
    #17 = 07/29/2015 (originally solicited for April 1st)
    #18 = 09/23/2015 (originally solicited for May 6th)

Ah, yeah, okay. I recall that. Still not that bad, as it was the end of the run. So that was 16 issues that were fine. I'm just saying it seems more unlikely that we will have those problems with their flagship characters. But its true, we won't know till the series starts.
