Yeah, to me, Aquaman feels like a natural fit to be a father. I wouldn't object if down the line they did some mumbo jumbo to get the kid more of an age with Damian (and formerly Jon).

Her characterization the entire PAD maybe pre-Noble was doesnt really hold much of a candle to Mera Blackest Night onwards.

Though I liked alot of stuff PAD introduced into the mythos despite his handling of Mera

Part of it might be artist depiction too given her stance and facial expression.

That's how she was portrayed all throughout PADs stuff. She was mostly written off as CRAZY! throughout the 90s.

90s AQUAMAN reads well if you imagine it as a completely different aquatic adventure book and not as, bold font, Aquaman.

Mera is such a fantastic character. That stuff is always cringe inducing for me to return to.

PAD's Aquaman basically needed to write out Mera so that they could hook him up with Dolphin. I guess somebody on those books were suffering some sort of midlife crisis. Or else your typical bad idea from the editor, Kevin Dooley.

Maybe they won't allow the infant child of Arthur and Mera to die this time. After all, this is the more hopeful DC that....

Doomsday Clock delayed into irrelevance. Given the tonal shift at DC, I'm entertaining the possibility of sabotage and editorial meddling over writer or artist delays.

Jor-El alive, Kents still dead
Flashpoint Thomas Wayne working with Bane to break Bruce
Barry's mom still dead
Barry and Iris on the outs
Ralph & Sue still in limbo

Poor Arthur & Mera. it isn't a question of if the kid will day. It is a question of how/when.
