    Exclamation Vertigo: Astro City

Will there be an "absolute" treatment?

I am trying to collect the original series but noticed certain volumes are out of print already...

DC is reprinting the series from the beginning. I don't think it will get the absolute treatment, but I think there will be HCs. I know the Vertigo series is being reprinted first as HCs, then tpbs a year later.

Also, you'd probably have more luck asking in the DC forum as AC is a DC book, not independent.

DC gives absolute/omnibus treatment to finished series.

Yes, and in my opinion, it's got its best lineup in several years. Sandman: Overture, Astro City, Federal Bureau of Physics, Fables, Hinterkind, The Unwritten: Apocalypse, The Names, etc. We don't have a forum for it anymore, though.

They don't. It's still published under the terms of the original Wildstorm contract per Kurt Busiek. Wildstorm is closed as an imprint, so AC was moved to Vertigo, which handles DC's creator-owned books. Vertigo and Wildstorm are both part of DC.

Six months later, more or less.

Vertigo is an imprint of DC. Everything published by Vertigo is published by DC, because DC is a parent company of Vertigo.

No plans for an "Absolute," as far as I know. But the plan is to get the out-of-print volumes back in print.

And maybe someday do Deluxe editions, but for the moment I'd just like to get the books in print again.

If there're no plans for an Absolute edition, then I'll settle for the Omnibus. Kurt Busiek's Astro City is an all-time classic.
