Excited because I feel a quality story is long overdue. But nervous.

I am a little concerned Hickman's run might be a little bit TOO over-reaching and definitive in what happens. Reading his Avengers run, while extremely well written it's a slog and sometimes was like reading a science textbook. I know some folks like that, but sheesh I glazed over more than once reading those books. Not to mention if he wipes the roster clean we're going without some very interesting characters for the next several years.

The X-Men were in a state of zombie franchise of which only a madman or a genius could save it and luckily Hickman is both.

I'm mostly curious about Hickman's run itself, but more excited about what may come after. If Hickman's books are going to shake up the status quo as hyped, that means the next stable of writers will have something truly new to work with with regards to the X-Men mythos, and that tends to bring out the best in any creative.

I want a Jean Grey who knows she is the most powerful telepath and telekinetic on Earth and who knows how to stand up for herself. Jean should be able to stand toe to toe with Magneto effortlessly, that is how powerful she is.
Yes, I know Jean will have a big role. I also want a good characterization

I am very excited...the most excited I've been in years.
At this point I am ready, willing and able to completely ignore/forget everything that has happened over the past 5-years-plus (quite easy to do, as I've only read the very least X-stuff over the past decade...dipping in and out since Utopia era) if that's what it takes.
I'm SO ready for a change and new direction.

Not excited in the least bit.
I'm fully expecting a tangled mess of terrible comics.
Hickman is massively overhyped. Especially not looking forward to any massively overpowered pet characters he makes for this.

But hopefully I'm wrong and we at least get one or two good ones out of it.

Co-signed. I like the art so far and that’s about it. I need to know his plans for Storm (if any) and his take on the character. For now I’m not planning on getting the book.

I want to be excited. The X-Men need a third renaissance(Wein/Claremont #1, Morrison #2). This is certainly being framed as it, but I'm not onboard yet. If Storm doesn't have a prominent role in it all, which it is not looking like she does right now, it's not going to be an easy sell for me.

Yeah, I can't wait for Wolverine to be on Mars, yet somehow keep appearing in avengers, Savage avengers, defenders, squirrel girl, West coast avengers, silver surfer, guardians of the Galaxy, Thanos, Thor, runaways etc.
