Nightcrawler died for Cyclops' sins (because he didn't send Pixie to pick everyone up).

It was really brave of Carey to write that scene of Ariel dying but not really dying because she went into a dimensional door and was exploding for like two years as an analogy to Jesus killing a fig tree that one time.

I don't remember from where this came from but I have read many times that Hope was supposed to be Jean's reincarnation or something like that.

To be specific Hope was Jean in her original appearance, in a literal 'rise from the ashes' kind of way, and was written that way until who knows when (even in Cable Hope was shown to use TK that was later said to be Nathan's, but had Jean's pink power signature and not Nathan's blue) and she was ultimately decided to be something else. As per Mike Carey.

That's actually super interesting and would make sense with the whole "Second Coming", also it would make sense then that her power was after explained as "Power Mimic".
