WB screwing up Superman? Well I never!
"They can be a great people Kal-El, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you. My only son." - Jor-El
Old news, I definitely remember Pérez talking about his problems with editorial during the New 52 before.
I think the one new piece of info is that he puts blame squarely on those higher up on the WB chain. At least that part is new to me.

I wish he would have gone into more detail about just how much influence WB had over DC at that time. We keep hearing how WB twisted Didio's arm but we never heard just how much they were pulling the strings behind the scenes. And how much they might be doing so today. I know the move out to Burbank was to appease Diane Nelson. We keep getting bits and pieces about what motivated the reboot. Jon Bogdanove said it was the lawsuit. So who knows.
Assassinate Putin!
It's just another layer being peeled off an onion we all know stinks (not specifically the New 52 Superman, though I'm not a fan, but the corporate situation regarding the New 52 itself). That really sucks for Perez, I imagine it's exciting to be handed the keys to one of DC's premier characters and the first superhero proper. That it's the assignment which broke him is pretty heartbreaking, especially for a veteran of the industry of Perez's caliber.
He drew Crisis, JLA/Avengers, and so many more tasks that would have burnt anyone out, and it's the behind-the-scenes situation around the reboot that broke the guy. That says a lot.
The irony of BC calling another website "clickbaity"...just wow.
"Darkseid...always hated music..."
Every post I make, it should be assumed by the reader that the following statement is attached: "It's all subjective. What works for me doesn't necessarily work for you, and vice versa, and that's ok. You may have a different opinion on it, but this is mine. That's the wonderful thing about being a comics fan, it's all subjective."
On the other hand, when it comes to news within the US comic book industry, there is basically Bleeding Cool and everything else. And everything else only tells what they are told in official pamphlets. For all his faults as a publisher, Rich Johnston is a muckraker, even if he was schooled in the English tabloid press.
«Speaking generally, it is because of the desire of the tragic poets for the marvellous that so varied and inconsistent an account of Medea has been given out» (Diodorus Siculus, The Library of History [4.56.1])
Honestly what's most disappointing about this for me was what happened to Lois. I think he was setting up some really interesting stuff with her. He had plans for her which is really more than can be said for anything that came after that with her. Would have loved to see how the fight to keep the Planet alive and tackling the dying print news media format would have progressed.
