Default The Spectre vs. The Q Continuum

The Spectre (Corrigan) decides to invade the Continuum and stamp them out.

Can he win? How far does he get?

They could always summon Nekron to kick his ass.

By presentation, the Q are up there. But by feats Spectre easily wins.

That pretty much says it. The Q can do a lot but the most powerful presentations of the Spectre involve almost defeating a multiverse level entity. By implication, they both can do tremendously cosmic things but the Spectre actually has the feats. By making it the entire Q Continuum, that certainly makes it tougher. The Q probably can stack their powers to do things like taking the powers of a single Q away so it is a tough call.

We don't know two things, and these are very important:

-how do the the Q's powers work? Is it some sort of technology? Or are they just "born" with the ability to manipulate space, time and matter?

-what is a Q's maximum ability? AFAIK their feats top out at effortlessly protecting a single ship and its crew from big bang level forces, while somehow allowing that ship's crew to exist without the laws of physics.

We re never shown a Q's maximum.

We only know that even if you are 99.999% dead? You cannot escape from Q.

That second thing is the case for many many high end beings. On rumbles, we give them their best feats and don't try to extrapolate to some theoretical max based on that.

Saitama, for example: the dude has shown at least mid-tier class 100 stuff up to now. However, he's shown that without ever really trying hard. So you can give him mid-tier class 100 stuff as he has shown, or you can try to extrapolate that to some imagined actual max. That second is a fool's errand.

Spectre is not invincible as the DC cosmics such as the Anti-Monitor and Parallax have knocked him out for a bit after he walloped them (through return fire or exhaustion). Darkseid level is nothing to the Spectre. Basically, we don't have a top limit for Qs fighting a cosmic of multiverse abilities.

IIRC, Q once said the Q were not born, but always were. That is, they're truly eternally existing beings, they have no beginning.

That was the whole thing with Amanda Rogers, as she was the first Q who was actually born or begotten.

Then Q-Quinn wanted to die, to bring an end to his eternal existence, and the Continuum said, no, dude, we're eternal, no beginning, no end, you're throwing off everyone's rhythm.

(It's peculiar that Amanda's parents got Q-death for reproducing, but Q-Quinn couldn't simply look up the Q book of capital offenses, comment a crime, and get the headsman, but whatever....)

You know the human race can mess up anything when we mess up the Q. We've totally corrupted them. They now get married, reproduce, have wars amongst themselves, and die. We completely ruined them simply by setting a bad example.

Anyway, a race that always was, that's changeless, probably doesn't rely on technology for feats that are part of the basic package. The only time we see Q with tech is when, after having become corrupted by the human experiences of death and birth, they go to war with each other for the first time.

It's like taking a kid to a bar for his first drink and getting him wasted. Kid has no chance. That's what Homo Sap did to the Q.

On the other hand, Quinn said the Q were not omnipotent and that they evolved through all the stages to reach where they were. He also referred to their current state of being immortal as the New Era and said that's where their problems began because, for them, immortality was the disease. Q contradicts that in the next episode he is in by claiming they have always existed and always been as they are. So it's a truth teller named Quinn versus the Prince of Lies as one species called Q. Basically, it's not consistent. For instance, the whole Amanda Rogers thing hinged on the fact the Q would kill her if she tried to live as human but could not refrain from using her powers. Um, why not just take them away as they did with Q? Basically, the needs of the immediate story are all that matter and continuity be darned.
