I have never seen so much pointless death in a comic book run before like...just why?
The best thing about this issue is the xposé: "This is the last issue of X-Men I'm writing."
I look at this list of deaths and I can't help but wonder why wouldn't anyone appreciate this masterpiece?
Karma dipped with Jube's kid, Shogo.
"Cable was right!"
Banshee is dead? But he's said as coming through a portal to Krakoa in the Preview to House of X #1?!!!
- He was killed off in Rosenberg's Uncanny.
- But, this isn't news. Sabretooth got killed in War of Realms, and we've seen him on covers & interiors for House of X.
- Sunspot was on the POX 2 cover, despite Rosenberg killing him.
If anything, Rosenberg's run has a 95% change of being pure filler that won't be taken seriously.
Maybe the writer wanted to emulate reality: **** happens… And the X-men have a dangerous life.
And you have to admit: many times, characters tend to escape from the most critical situations miraculously unscathed.
And, in the case of X-men, even dead, you except them, one day, to be alive again.
All of this is rather artificial… but probably more entertaining and less grim.
“Strength is the lot of but a few privileged men; but austere perseverance, harsh and continuous, may be employed by the smallest of us and rarely fails of its purpose, for its silent power grows irresistibly greater with time.” Goethe
