The first poster came out today. While the other Daniel Craig teasers have been very good this one looks like they just slapped the title onto a picture taken on set.

Bumping this. A short teaser for the trailer was shown yesterday, with the full thing to debut on wednesday morning. Looks like some neat stuff such as the masked villain seen in filming last March, a car with a gattling gun, motorcycle stunt and a few shots of Bond, Lynch, and (I think) Armas.

New trailer. It looks like they've upped the scale and stakes this time, with a more potentially apocalyptic threat like the late Connerys, Moore films, Brosnan etc. as opposed to the more personal/spycraft stuff of the other Craig films. Even seems to be some naval action similar to those films. Kind of makes sense, the films have generally been heading to a more traditional direction, especially since Skyfall. We've got the humor, the style, the gadgets and the supporting cast and the arch-nemesis all pretty much back to their previous level by SPECTRE, but until now not quite the large scale plot.

Also adds some more fuel to the speculation that Safin is a re-imagined Dr.No, although No had metal hands while Safin seems to have a veiny face.

Yeah, the "tidiness" line and the whole reveal of his secret lair kind of scream Dr. No.

The idea of a sort of villain civil war-Blofeld vs. Safin-kind of reminds me of the Goldeneye:Rogue Agent video game, in which Dr.No fought Goldfinger.

I like the bit where the jeep misses him and flips over, but he gives it a few rounds from the SMG just in case. Can't be too careful when you're a top secret agent who literally every bad-guy in the world knows by sight.

Bumping this we're hopefully close to a release...this time.

So they seem to be pretty committed to the October release date. Nine minutes were also recently shown at a screening-pretty much it seems like the Italy foot/bike/Aston Martin chase we've seen plenty of in the trailers, but with a lot more details as to what exactly is going on with Bond and Madeline.

I'm guessing from whatever happens (This is mostly all speculation), Bond and Madeline separate and Bond goes to brood in Jamaica, until Felix brings him back into the thick of things with the Ana De Armas character, which also re-entangles him with MI6 who are probably working the same case, and eventually Swan/Blofeld/Safin. Given what happens to Felix in the novels and pre-reboot film series, I wouldn't be surprised if Felix and Ana's character don't make it past the Carribean chapter of the story. Especially since SPECTRE spared both it's Bond girls, whereas before that Camille and Moneypenny were the only surviving Bond girls from Craig's adventures.

Also some sharp-eyed fans have noticed that one of the SPECTRE agents (Woman reporting to Blofeld) from the Rome scene in that film is present at a "party" scene.

I don't know why they haven't used the 8 other double Os to create a number of internal MI6 'Felix Leiters' in the Bond universe. The only time they appear (with any lines at least) is shortly before getting killed.* And a natural go to I'd think with diversity inclusion.

Honestly given Moneypenny was a field agent in the Craig films and a POC her becoming a Double O in a spinoff film or streaming series would had been a logical step IMO.

Although I have no issue with a woman or man who is a POC replacing Bond as 007 for a period of time if the story is good which I hope this will be.

I'd actually be curious to see 008 at some point. Both Goldfinger and Living Daylights both have Bond possibly being replaced by 008, who seems to be more by-the-book and perhaps colder than Bond judging by M's short description.

I'm at a loss to understand why we haven't heard of 0010 or 0023. It's not like they are going to stop at nine, particularly given the number of double 0's that have died. It's not as if the can reuse a previous number for a different agent. (The villain in Goldeneye makes it abundantly clear why not). You can't risk confusion or misunderstanding when exchanging communication about a specific agent.

The original Fleming books have the 00s go up to at least 11.

Another thing about Leiter, while he and Bond are certainly friends in the books it's not quite the more buddy relationship they have at least in some of the films (In Diamonds Are Forever and Live and Let Die Felix seems to be mainly picking up after Bond's messes as comic relief, although LALD Hedison of course later played the maimed Felix). Bond's actually close friends with Chief of staff Bill Tanner, whose role in the pre-Craig films was kind of miniscule; he's just background in MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN really, a Psedo-M in For Your Eyes Only, helps give out some briefings in GOLDENEYE and THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH (In the former insults M). He's been a semi-regular performer since QUANTUM OF SOLACE but more as M's confidant rather than Bond's bestie.

I think the US one is the better of the two.

Apparently the big threat is possibly similar to this:

    https://metalgear.fandom.com/wiki/FOXDIE

Also has some echoes of this (Perhaps intentionally): https://jamesbond.fandom.com/wiki/Bl...ngels_of_Death

Might also explain why Madeline was a Doctor, she was trying to perhaps stop Safin's scheme....or helped create it?
