I noticed this too. I kind of wish this era would be forgotten. It might be on one of the "data" pages. Hickman uses data pages in great effect on is Monday Murders book. I think we might get some continuity stuff and other useful information on these extra pages, but it is just a guess.

The Maker is an alternate reality Reed Richards. It is something Hickman did in his FF run, or was it one of his other runs?

It's the crazy ass Reed from the Ultimate Universe who apparently now exists in pretty much every single Universe but has one single conscience or some crazy **** like that.

The guy creep me out everytime that he was on scene, so is no wonder that Xavier does the same here.

Some writers like to reuse the same concepts. Morrison did this a lot too (compare phrases in New X-men to AllStar Superman). So I'm not surprised that Xavier now resembles the Maker. The back of the helmets even look similar. I have been reading some of Hickman's past work to prepare for his run. He seems to be a good writer and I think we'll get something really interesting.

A good book will spark the imagination of the readers. It will pull us in and we will engage with the text. Hopefully we will have a lot of deep discussions over the work (just like we did during the Morrison era.. and to be honest with some of the eras that came afterward due to all the themes the X-men faced like extinction).

Yeah, but the Maker is a psychopath, and, as written by Hickman, the most dangerous man in the multiverse. Seems strange to use a similar design if Xavier is supposed to be a good guy...unless he isn't, of course.

We can rule out Hickman using the Maker for now. Jeremy Whitley has control of him, in his Future Foundation book. According to solicits, the team will be busting him out of space jail in issue 2, mistaking him for 616 Reed!

Exactly. We need Hickman to inject some fresh concepts and ideas into the X-Men that lesser writers can feed off of and spend the next 10+ years ruining said concepts and driving them into the ground.

It's a version of Reed Richards that got outsmarted by Sunspot, killed by Monica Rambeau, and may or may not have banged Dr. Doom's mom (I checked out on Bendis' Iron Man)
