foxley for the great painted cover.
I vote Kirby 101
First, hats off to Güicho for correcting me on the TRON arcade game cabinet art.
Next, my favorites: ed2962 for reminding me of how Atari with the 2600 helped make video games popular; Javasaurus because I marveled at the fluidity of Dragon's Lair animation; and The Darknight Detective for showing an actual arcade game cabinet.
And I choose… ed2962. Atari Force brings back old memories of reunions with cousins and playing with the Atari 2600 for hours on end.

Congrats kirby.
And thanks for the vote Icctrombone. It's always nice to encounter some appreciation for the great Joe Jusko.
Congrats to Kirby 101!
Thanks all. This was a cover that immediately came to me, I thought "Arcade? Wasn't that a villain from Byrne/Claremont X-Men book?" And the rest it history.
Busy day for me today, and I don't have a theme ready, but I will post a contest before the end of the day.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
I think the contest theme was specific enough to be worth doing, Guicho!
And Congratulations Kirby101
Congratulations to Kirby101 for a marvelous cover putting the X-Men in a situation that we might expect to see Batman in in the old days. A nice mix of retro and modern.
What has the captain learned this week? He has learned about the old-school status of the arcade, specifically the Pac-Man (and then Mrs. Pac-Man) machine at the bowling alley. They were a spot where friends and frenemies could gather is contests of skill. It was a different time, and although the same attitudes and philosophies occur online (or so I'm told), I miss those days of face to face interaction. I don't miss pumping quarters into a device though.
Thanks to SquirrelMan for the vote. I also regret not giving them an Honorable Mention for the Doreen cover. I apologize, fellow nut.
Congratulations Kirby101!
Thanks to MajorHoy and Ravin' Ray for the mentions.

Congratulations to Kirby 101!!!
Thank you to CaptCleghorn for the kind vote! BMO appreciates it!
There is no rule saying you can't use old contest themes-- we did so in the past. I was gone awhile, so unless something's changed, it should be fine. Also, when I looked at the list, the contest in question, I think was last year. I think even if it had been the same, it would've been perfectly acceptable.
Also, the OP's cover presented can totally be voted for in their contest. You don't have to disqualify yourself unless you want to.
Nice going, Kirby!
A bat! That's it! It's an omen.. I'll shall become a bat!
