Top 5 moments from Rosenuncanny anyone?
- Kwannon showing up out of NOWHERE with no explanation to behead Joseph (who was running a new brotherhood just because) and then disappearing out of thin air again with no explanation
- The X-Men invading another nation's territory and killing off soldiers to give a new land for the Morlocks to live on (???)
- Sinister just randomly popping up at the X-Men's door like "hey" and then turning into MEGA-Sinister
- Hope murdering that senator in cold blood with 0 repercurssion <3
- Chamber's death scene... I'm still not over how comically bad that entire thing was
I’m gonna miss coming up with explanations of how horribly written the deaths were and how easy it was for the character to just not die.....
"We come into this world alone and we leave the same way. The time we spent in between - time spent alive, sharing, learning together... is all that makes life worth living." - Jean Grey
Yeah, because she died. And mind you, if that was unsatisfactory, doesn't mean the exact same thing should be done here. They chose literally the worst possible way to do it.
Like I've said, this run seems to be have been made for the sole purpose of showing how wrong Cyclops was that period, because someone can't let go most people were on Cyclops' side.
They kissed after being kept apart for years. What we saw here was a very natural reaction and it didnt need a whole conversation. Last time Jean sawn Scott, he died within 10 minutes. Scott comes back and before he can reunite with Jean, she is presumed dead. Given all that, why would they waste time embracing when they both know that time is limited and can be yanked up from beneath you? I see nothing wrong with the kiss. A conversation can come later

Of course, thinking about her every day doesn't mean "I'm in love with you and want to be with you". I thought of some people I care about that died I don't know if every day, but quite often. It would be of course even more for Scott living with her friends and people that care about her, then literally a younger version of her.
Marvel is good at ending conflicts of years in two pages without giving it importance. Do you remember the Cyclops speech in Washington?
But it also doesn't not mean that. There are people who lose spouses that never really move on, and if they move on, they will still always love the spouse that died. Jean and Scott were together for twenty years collectively between them getting together as teens (twice), spending their young adult lives together, and raising Cable in the future. Of course Scott still loves and is in love with Jean, and I don't think Jean was ever not. But that also doesn't mean that there wasn't a time that Scott was in love with Emma.

So with all the deaths, are we just supposed to come up with our own explanation for how all or some of them come back from the dead? Hickman's story seems to jump ahead in time, and I doubt he's going to address something Rosenberg wrote after Hickman already came up with his story. I imagine it'll be like when Claremont came back the 1st time and he swapped Jean and Betsy's powers without ever showing or telling us how it happened. We'll just have to accept the new status quo and fill in the blanks ourselves.
