He's aided Coulson's version of SHIELD a few times (It's revealed in the show they supplied the AOU hellicarrier as well) but he and Hill (or their Skrull doubles) seem to be mostly independent from them and just kind of doing their own thing in the last few movies. So Fury's sort of freelance I guess? I'm guessing Stark probably helped out with whatever operation they have now, given the tech.

I've seen people on here call it SWORD. Iono if that's just a educated guess or if that's been stated. But I think he was freelance prior to endgame.

SWORD is the space-based counterpart of SHIELD. It was created for the X-Men comic so the assumption was that the rights to use it went along with the X-Men... now that Disney is getting those back I guess it's fair game. I assume MCU Vol. 2 will have a lot more space-based stuff, what with Captain Marvel and the Guardians and Doctor Strange, and possibly the X-Men and Fantastic Four.
