Is marvel creating new heroes from other continents?

Storm was from Africa, but what about Asia/India or Japan or the pacific islands or the middle east?

If marvel wants to keep going global, it's kind of surprising they do not try to branch out with heroes that are from more varied locales. Maybe they have them by are just not pushed much at all.

And what is going on with the comic scene in other countries, where are their heroes? I know India has a lot of mythology, but you don't hear of any popular home grown comic scene from there.

Japan has mangas and anime, which is its own universe, what about China? Korea?


What about some hidden tribe of native americans in south america? Like some hidden homo magi like group of people that slipped into another realm after an ancient battle with quetzecotl

Marvel has several characters from every continent, mostly in the X-men universe. Sunfire was part of the Giant Sized X-men. Big Hero 6 was a Japanese specific team. Karma is Vietnamese. There have been several Native American characters, notably Warpath and Dani Moonstar.
