    Well that's what we were led to believe. But my initial reaction to Jolie as Thena is that as soon as we see her in costume expect Maleficent/Thena memes the way Cate Blanchett has Galadriel/Hela memes.

    Why did they flip the gender of multiple characters!? And why is an Asian person playing a character from a middle eastern legend this makes even less sense than the original rumor?

    You can say that again! I totally thought Angelina was to play Sersi.

    But the surprise is Salma, who, in full disclosure, is my wife and life's passion on an alternate Earth. Happy to see her on the big screen again. Curious to see how they explain her as Ajak, which is not only a male in the comics, but one of the more senior Eternals.

    Hayek apparently said that Ajak is the leader of the Eternals.

    I don't get the Sersi/Thena twist for Jolie. Is Sersi still the lead but not cast yet? If she isn't in the movie, then it's a romance between whom exactly?
