EXCALIBUR by Tini Howard & Marcus To Appreciation 2019

I feel like the bridge between this new version of Excalibur and the old book will be Captain Britain (now Betsy) and magic. Not England. Not the mission statement.

The whole "mutant magic" thing is odd. By that tweet, sounds like Tini is treating it like it's something new, exclusive to this new world?

I think a lot of the things we're worried about we'll be a part of the story. You can't just have Betsy being Captain Britain without mentioning her twin Brian Braddock. I think we will be pleasantly surprised. Also the aspect of OtherWorld and magic seems like a good connection to me. Honestly thinking about Excalibur I didn't really care for the old team.

My hope was that if it was brought back that it would consist of European characters: Psylocke, Captain Britain, Meggan Braddock, Pete Wisdom, Chamber, Banshee, Pixie. Or other OG's like Rachel Summers, Faisa Hussain, Sage or Black Knight. I'm excited about this new take though so I'm going to give it a shot.

I was really excited about this then the announcement left a lot for me to be desired. But I make no decisions till HOX/POX is over.

Apparently if we read between the lines for PoX/HoX: mutants have basically because a big tent and former enemies like Apocalypse and the Hellfire Club have signed up with the X-Men.

Be nice to see Sebastian Shaw on a team of X-men.

I am looking forward to all of the new titles but it feels odd having a book called Excalibur with no former members of the group on it and only having one character in Pyslocke that has any real connect to the UK and the former team.Would have liked to see a former member or two from the old Excalibur era from the 80's & 90's or even in the reboot in the early to mid 00's.

Ideally the new team would have been Captain Britain,Pyslocke,Pete Wisdom,Banshee,Meggan and maybe some none mutants from the UK like Union Jack & Spitfire.

She was also Captain Britain again in Remender’s Uncanny X-Force. It wasn’t without it’s consequences, but it was awesome.
