Default Bring back Terry 2019 - Siryn Appreciation

As the new line ups dropped this week-end I was super excited for the leaked titles: Fallen Angels and X-Force sounded like good possibilities for Siryn to reappear after the 6th consecutive year in limbo and sidelined by the Morrigan storyline.

It didn't happen. After Rosenberg claiming that he wanted to use her (after having read half his run and having seen the reviews I am pretty happy he didn't get to write her as part of his pointless torture porn run) and the never realized X-Men Green almost all hope is now lost again.

Black Tom back on X-Force could be a last straw to hold onto, considering some of his best appearances had Terry involved.

But given how freaking Zombie Banshee could not care less for his lost daughter, this seems like a far stretch. (SPOILER QUESTION: isn't he gone again or what did I read about him?)

I guess that does not bode well for my favourite character in comics.

I´m very grateful that Tery has not appeared in Rosenerg´s run or anywhere else in the recent mess. With the first bullet dodged I only hope she is recovered by a writer who don´t destroy her. (Sorry for the bad English, is not my mother tongue)

Problem with Siryn is that PAD left her in a position that she's almost impossible to be used unless someone completely ignores all his work.

Ugh, if Guido has come back from being a Hell Lord or whatever happened to him, Terry SHOULD have come back after the events of Secret Wars. And yes, I remember Rosenberg saying he wanted to use her, but thank god he didn't. Perhaps there may be some light in the way of Hickman as he seems to be reviving and reusing mutants that have been dead or forgotten. I think she would be a welcome addition to a book like Excalibur where they are looking at "mutant magic". Have her pass the Morrigan on to someone else as mutants needing her.

As for Sean, I feel like he needs to be given a pass as he's been under the influence of the Death Seed, and then has been a shell of a human being nevermind his former self. If possible he was regressed in this latest Rosenberg run.

Terry does deserve a spot in this reboot or whatever it is, maybe wherever Warpath is....

If I’m not mistaken, Siryn could really come back at any moment a person wants to write them without totally ignoring PAD’s run. Plus, it’s interesting storytelling to explain how she deals with being the Morrigan or even how she loses that power, but all anyone has to do is pray and she’ll appear.

Though then a writer would actually care something about her which most don't seem to do sadly...just ignoring the whole Morrigan mess would be FAR easier for all future writers imho...

If Tim Seeley could screw around with Shatterstar's asexual background canon -and get away with the retcon- I don't see how any other writer COULDN'T undo that nonsensical Morrigan nonsense or, at the very least, put it to good use as Askani's Flame suggested by utilizing her abilities in Excaliber.

Or just have her burn out her Morrigan powers bringing her dad back to full health and such...

Not necessarily. All it takes is a writer coming up with a way to get rid of the Morrigan part of her character since that’s all that’s really keeping her from returning.

Still, that requires a writer to find a contrived way to explain that away and spend at least one issue on that.

Yes, Terry could come back any time someone prays to her.
I'm not sure if explaining how losing the Morrigan powers would effect Terry though. I'm pretty sure that will be covered in Jane Foster's Valkyrie comic. You could end up repeating the same story.
That's just my opinion. If you like the idea, then great.
I guess that you could tell a story of Terry helping Jane deal with the loss of her God powers, regardless of whether Terry remains the Morrigan or not.

I wouldn't mind if it took more than one issue to explain how Terry lost the Morrigan identity. I would happily take a two or even three issue story explaining how Siryn lost the Morrigan powers if it meant that we got Terry back.

And, I don't believe that it would necessarily taka contrived story to show how Terry lost the Morrigan identity. A writer could simply come up with a story of how another character steals the Morrigan Godhood from her.

I know that I have made many posts about how I don't like it when characters are reset to previous versions just for the sake of nostalgia. But, I'm willing to make an exception in the case of Terry. So anyone who wants to call me a hypocrite for this should feel free to do so.

I don't think that her losing the Morrigan powers would really constitute that Thievery, as it wouldn't be just for the sake of nostalgia, to some of us the whole Morrigan mess is something that has only greatly hindered Terry and one of the big reasons that she's nowhere to be seen right now, so getting rid of the Morrigan would be a boon for Terry to some of us...

Siryn needs to come back. She was honestly the third most interesting member of X-Force after Dani and Sam, which means she was the most interesting non-New Mutant of the group.

She doesn't need to lose her Morrigan powers.
All she needs is a writer to realize that with her connection with irish gods, she would be a perfect fit for Excalibur.
And don't tell me she is too powerful for a team that includes Apocalypse.
Bringing back the old, killing the young: that's the Marvel way
