I shudder at what this new costume is going to look like, ..especially, when I recall that horrid thing, with the pop-out wrist shanks and the V-shaped window, over her box.

This would be awesome news IF it’s confirmed. I think if she wasn’t there it would be a glaring absence. It would be interesting to see how she approaches the character 40 years later. I don’t expect her to rock the classic “satin tights” at nearly 70 (although, she probably could if she wanted to!) but I think she could sport the white “mod super spy” suit.

I feel like she'd be very protective over her legacy...to the point she might be against some two second cameo. She's no fool. She's past the age where she could pull off the original costume...so what would she wear?
I'm skeptical about this.

I don't think it's been confirmed yet, so I wouldn't go nuts about this. It could happen, but until Lynda Carter herself says she's going to return to the Arrowverse, it's just click bait.
They don't have to bring back every actor in the exact same role they played before on TV. Carter could be an unidentified Amazon queen, for example. However, I thought that she was going to have a cameo in WONDER WOMAN 1984--so Warner might not want her to dilute that cameo's importance by already doing a similar cameo for the Crisis.
LEGENDS OF TOMORROW already spotlighted Themyscira, with Zari bringing Helen of Troy to the Amazons--and later Helen appeared again in the finale for season 3. To me she's their Wonder Woman. I'd be happy to see Bar Paly return for the Crisis in that role.
