Default COVER CONTEST July 24th - July 30th, ASTRONAUTS

This past week we celebrated the 50th anniversary of one of Mankind's greatest achievements, the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. So this contest is about men (or women) in space. A cover featuring a spacesuit clad NON-SUPERHERO man or woman in a outer space or on another world. It can be a superhero comic as long as the astronaut is NOT the superhero. So let's take one small step...

    THE RULES:

Post one (and only one) cover that fits the theme of this week's contest.
Cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume.
Covers must be posted before voting begins.
It's ok to vote for the OP if you like their cover.
Voting begins 12 AM Tuesday and runs until 12 AM Wednesday PST.
Vote by posting the name in bold of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most. A vote need not be in bold, but it does make it easier to tally votes.
The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period.
It's okay to discuss the covers but if you think someone's entry doesn't fit the theme or violates the rules don't argue it in the thread - simply don't vote for it.
Occasionally voting will result in a tie, in which case a tie breaking vote will be required from someone who has not yet voted.

More importantly, remember that we're here to have fun. Enjoy!

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

OK, so I read the diections.

There may be disagreements, but these four weren't superheroes at the time of the flight. I stand by my annoyingly stubborn streak here.

Nick's not a superhero, and he would look at you very cross for suggesting so.

I was tempted to go with an Allan Kämpe cover (Swedish 1940s adventure comics in air and space), or basically any Valerian et Laureline cover, but Tintin still easily won out.

True. But why didn't you use the original cover?

I'm a fan of "Baxter" reprints?

Or it was the first version that came up at the search.

You must insert a quarter to play!

    How does one do that?

I know who Cerebus is. I was teasing the Capt. who said he read the contest description, but then posted this cover.

Drat! That's the cover I was looking for to replace my original entry and for some reason I couldn't find it.
