Be sure to read the rules and if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.

We are always happy to have new people in the contest.
    Okay, thanks.

I just wanted to post this cover because it's the one that I always think of in relation to astronauts and the moon.

It's for SUPERMAN’S PAL, JIMMY OLSEN No. 126 (January 1970), which went on sale November 25, 1969, some months after the first moon landing. And probably the earlist that comic artists would have had photographic reference they could use--you can see the LEM on the cover. Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson got almost everything right, but they messed up the Earth--it should be tilted 90 degrees, something anyone at the time would have known from having seen the moon landing the previous summer (as I had). It seems strange that Curt and Murph were so faithful in everything else but not that detail. Nevertheless, that cover makes me feel like I’m there on the moon.

Just so everybody is clear here, the spacesuit-clad skeleton is a living man, but not a human one.

I didn't catch that addition to the rules last week. Thanks. Fixed now.

    THE RULES:

It's okay to discuss the covers but if you think someone's entry doesn't fit the theme or violates the rules don't argue it in the thread - simply don't vote for it.

I know who Cerebus is. I was teasing the Capt. who said he read the contest description, but then posted this cover.

"This is Major Tom to Ground Control
    I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today
    For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
    Far above the world
    Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do

True, but sometimes people are not aware they didn't follow the contest, pointing it out allows them to change, if they wish.
But point taken, I should send a private message to let them know instead. In case they would like to change their entry.

By the way, there might also be a slight exception when the person who is responsible for the contest has a question about an entry . . .
