Default Rank your favorite Spider-Man adaptations.

Spider-Man is a character who has had many media adaptations. From the 1967 animated series to the recent 2019 movie Far From Home, Spidey has had multiple takes on who he is as a character and his universe. When it comes to these adaptations, how would you rank them from favorite to least favorite?

Would it even be fair to rank individual movies to entire cartoon runs? Maybe it might be better to separate them into categories… However, if you feel the need to mix them together to give your top Spider-Man experiences outside of comics feel free to do so.

    Movies we have:
    Spider-Man
    Spider-Man2
    Spider-Man3
    The Amazing Spider-Man
    The Amazing Spider-Man 2
    Spider-Man Homecoming
    Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse
    Spider-Man Far From Home
(I’m really debating including the Avengers movies where Spider-Man was merely included…but hey if you thought Spidey in Civil War was better than some of his solo outings feel free to mention it)

When it comes to Spidey in Animation we have
    Spider-Man (67)
    Spider-Man (81)
    Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends
Spider-Man (94) (Also known as Spider-Man the Animated Series)
    Spider-Man Unlimited
    Spider-Man: The New Animated Series
    Spectacular Spider-Man
    Ultimate Spider-Man
    Spider-Man (17) (Also known as Marvel’s Spider-Man)

The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008-2009) by far. Spidey's version of Batman: The Animated Series. An awesome show cruelly ended.

Best film? Definitely Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) deserving its Academy Award for Best Animated Series. Visual feast on the big screen.

Still fond of Spider-Man (1994), a show I grew up on.

Spider-Man (1967) gave us the legendary theme tune.

My favourite Spider-Man live action appearance is in Captain America: Civil War (2016). Spidey steals the show with his cameo. Tom Holland's the best live action Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

My favorite adaptations are (in no particular order):

    -- Spider-Man 1 (2002)
    -- Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
    -- The Spectacular Spider-Man.
    -- Spider-Man PS4.

On the whole, I'll say in terms of consistency:
    Spider-Man Games > Spider-Man Movies > Spider-Man Cartoons

Spider-Man in video games has consistently produced games of above average quality (Activision Spiderman, the first two Spider-Man movie games, Ultimate Spider-Man) with PS4 being a masterpiece. Spider-Man movies have produced two genuinely great films in Raimi's first and ITSV, while some good films (SM-2, Homecoming, Venom), mediocre films (Far from home) and some bad films (Spider-Man 3, Amazing Movies).

As for cartoons, taste is subjective since childhood nostalgia affects everyone, but to me Weisman's Spectacular is the only one that looks good and is well written and entertaining of the cartoons. The other suffer from weak animation and/or poor execution.

Yeah, I'm actually right there with you on all accounts. The games have been much better and closer than the movies ever have been with Spider-Man, and Spectacular Spider-Man solidified how a well-told cartoon Spidey show could and arguably should be.

My top favorites movies are Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man and Into the Spider-Verse. I think Amazing Spider-Man is enjoyable, so it would come after, alongside Homecoming and Far From Home. And in the bad adaptations department I put Spider-Man 3 as a better movie than Amazing Spider-Man 2, because it's fun while ASM2 is boring as hell and it has that incredible scene with Sandman trying to take human form while grabbing the necklace with a picture of her daughter.

As far as TV Shows go, I have only watched 6, Spectacular Spider-Man (my favorite), followed closely by Spider-Man TAS and then Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, which I haven't seen for years, but I loved as a child. I'm not fond in neither Spider-Man Unlimited nor Ultimate Spider-Man, but USM at least has more elements that I can enjoy than SMU. I don't remember what I thought as a kid of Spider-Man the new animated series as to comment in its quality nowadays

I've played 3 Spider-Man games: My favorite is Marvel's Spider-Man, followed by Ultimate Spider-Man and then Spider-Man 3, which I don't think is a particularly good game, but it gave me some hours of entertainment as a kid

If I had to combine every adaptation I've experienced in a list, it would go like this (no particular order in the categories):

    Best: Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Into the Spider-Vers, Spectacular Spider-Man
Really good:Marvel's Spider-Man, Spider-Man TAS, and lower than those but above the next category, Ultimate Spider-Man (game)
Good: Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, Homecoming, Far From Home
    Bad but enjoyable: Spider-Man 3 (movie), Spider-Man 3 (game)
    Worst: Amazing Spider-Man 2, Ultimate Spider-Man (series), Spider-Man Unlimited

I haven’t seen ‘Far From Home’ yet, so it’s not included in my rankings.

    1) Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
    2) Spider-Man: Homecoming
    3) Spider-Man 2
    4) Spider-Man
    5) The Amazing Spider-Man
    6) The Amazing Spider-Man 2
    7) Spider-Man 3

(Rankings 1-3 are classic. 4 is okay, but a bit dated. And I would not watch 5-7 again unless I was really bored)

    Takes on the character:

    1. Spider-Man & his Amazing Friends
    2. The 1981 show (a.k.a. Spider-Man 5000)
    3. Neversoft game and its sequels
    4. Treyarch's movie trilogy games (and their spin-offs)
    5. MTV Spider-Man
    6. Ultimate Spider-Man (the video game)
    7. Spectacular Spider-Man animated
    8. Marvel's Spider-Man (Insomniac)
    9. The animated Spider-Men film (both Pine and Peter B. Parker)

    Takes on story and mythos

    1. Neversoft games and sequel by Vicarious Visions
    2. Spectacular Spider-Man animated
    3. Treyarch's Movie tie-ins and their spin-offs
    4. Marvel's Spider-Man (Insomniac game)
    5. Ultimate Spider-Man (the game)
    6. 80s cartoons and MTV one
    7. Spider-Men (the animated movie)
    8. Non-MCU movies

    How I rank the films:

    1. Spider-Man
    2. Spider-Man 3
    3. Spider-Men
    4. Spider-Man 2
    5. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
    6. The Amazing Spider-Man

Homecoming is confusingly overrated, and I'm skipping Far From Home.
