Born in 77. Got my first exposure with the X-Men with Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends when they guessed started. Read (or flipped through my first X-Men title with 171. Started collecting with issue 223.

I was totally shocked to see Storm with a Mohawk and confused at where Cyclops and Nightcrawler were. I was excited to find out everything when I found my local comic book shop: Geppi's comics in Baltimore.
55. First read comics in 1973. Read my uncle's comics. He had a ton of comics. Full runs on several series, X MEN among them.
I guess self-reporting on a thread isn't exactly a scientifically sound data set, but, with that said, it is interesting to see the 30+'s outnumbering the younger group.
Let the flames destroy all but that which is pure and true!
58. First exposure to the X-Men was in 1969 during the Neal Adams era, right before cancellation. During that same period, Marvel was reprinting the early Lee-Kirby issues, which 8-year-old me really enjoyed.
I have not been reading the X-Men (or comics) continuously since then. I've taken sabbaticals that lasted many years. In recent years I've been enjoying reading, or rereading, comics from the 70s and 80s digitally. But I still dip my toe in on newer stuff. I read House of X, for example.
I'm 48 years old.
