While they may be corporate and corrupt they are also superheroes. He likely thought Huey was in league with some foreign government or hostile power. According to Frenchie people have tried to kill him more than a few times. He had no reason to believe Huey wasn't a bad guy.
did he? or did he do what Batman does when he wants information; scare the crap out of people while roughing them up? he was shouting and asking who he was the whole time. otherwise, it would have been ridiculously easy to just walk in and snap Huey's neck w/o making a sound.
maybe they deserved to be burned. who have they helped? they are basically a collection of amateur Foolkillers. think of all the crap that they have covered up and why? just so they can leverage supes later? just to escape capture? why didn't they just leak the information about the government testing drugs on babies? i'll tell you why. Butcher is a bigot. he doesn't value life. he values superhuman life even less. he's the mirror of supe-supremacist Homelander. he could have whipped out his phone and took footage of the babies in the lab. he could have shared that video of popclaw killing someone in a drug fueled haze. instead he used it for blackmail.

true. but he still has a conscience. that's what separates him. it wasn't cold blood so much as killing a more powerful individual in an extremely weak willed panic. Huey's a coward. he has treated Starlight quite shabbily because of peer pressure. that's why Butcher pegged him as a good tool in his crusade against superhumans.
He wasn't interrogating him. Someone with his powers wouldn't need to. Following Hughie around for a few hours would have told him everything he needed to know. If he really wanted information that's all he needed to do.
They didn't leak the information because they were building a case for the CIA. Honestly they could have achieve their goal if Butcher took the deal before everyone on the team got burned. His hatred got the better of him there.
Blackmailing Popclaw was the better option. He needed a sample of compound V for his case and she knew where to get it.
we followed Hughie around for a few hours. it told us nothing. Butcher cut him loose, remember? all Transluscent would have seen is some mope returning to his mope job. but if you think about it logically, he wouldn't have killed Hughie until he found out who (if anyone) he was aligned with. because he would have to answer for it.
then why are they fugitives?
He didn't seem to care who Hughie was and who was working for. He was boasting about being a member of the seven and who the hell is he to be doing what he was doing. He treated the situation as an ant trying to take on a god.
Frenchie is a gun runner by trade. He said so himself to Hughie when they were alone together. Butcher describe himself as a mercenary. Even if their jobs weren't illegal by nature what they are trying to uncover and the way they went about it would have made them targets for vought
That wouldn't of told him anything. From his perspective Huey was a man that snuck a bug in one of the most secure places in the city. He wasn't assuming he was an newbie. He was assuming he was a guy that probably would of spent awhile doing nothing like a spy usually does in their cover job. So he went for shock and awe hoping Huey would crack under the pressure.
Only after he saw the operation and realized they were random killers working out of a basement and not government/corporate professionals. And how Translucent acted was no different than any other action hero tough guy when they get caught. He looked for weaknesses and tried getting into the head of the weakest link. Lets be honest here if the situation was flipped and he was the "good" guy and the others were the "bad" guys he would be cheered for trying to talk his way out of a bad situation. If a member of the Justice League or the Avengers got caught and named dropped Superman or Thor as the guy their captures will be dealing with if they aren't let go it wouldn't be out of place. He didn't seem to care who Hughie was and who was working for. He was boasting about being a member of the seven and who the hell is he to be doing what he was doing. He treated the situation as an ant trying to take on a god.

What I do know is that it isn't just the Superheroes who are d***s, so are the Boys.
And one of them is a murderous psychopath.
If they stick to this, it'll be faithful to the source material.
But I'm not surprised Terror isn't in it....
Although I liked the scene in the comic with the cat....
I don't know if this has been brought up already, but did anybody notice that the Deep was whitewashed?

Really enjoyed the show. What is Mothers Milk reasoning for doing this? Simply because the superheroes are throwing things out of order and he likes everything in order? Cause he doesn't seem to be as psychotic as the other 2.
