Okay. So I've always found this sort of topic a little weird. I mean, these are two dimensional drawings of fictional characters, and for the most part they all look alike (super model/body builder/porn star body types). I dunno, some people can get into drawings and cartoons but I'm not one of them. So I'm kinda looking at this from a "character" standpoint more than anything.

    Female.

    1. Starfire. I mean, she's got that crazy porn star body, even by the standards of superheroes, she's comfortable with her sexuality and knows what she likes, she's kind, sweet, funny in a accidental sort of way....she's basically every guy's "Swedish exchange student" fantasy but with super strength and flight and better hair.

    2. Ivy. She's got that crazy redhead vibe going on, a great figure, and on top of that is just leaking that femme fatale sexy "I might kill you after I kiss you and you'll still love it" attitude. I used to get into a lot of very fun trouble with redheads, and ended up being very, very wary of them as a result (so much fun....so much trouble!) but even I have to admit, Ivy's one sexy chick.

    3. Lois Lane. She's usually the sharpest woman in the room, and has achieved great success in her field without sacrificing her feminism and sex appeal. Plus.....those pencil skirts man. Hard to resist brains and beauty, especially when they're wrapped up in those tight pencil skirts. When Erica Durance played her.....yeah, after years and years of reading Superman comics, I finally got why Clark would chase this girl so hard. I would too if I were him.

    4. Black Canary. Okay, this is mostly just a "me" thing but I really dig a hardcore, badass biker chick who's also sexy as hell and knows it. And Dinah's probably got the best ass in the hero community. She mixes that biker aesthetic with some retro Marilyn Monroe sensibilities (especially under Timm's art; that hair is great) and seems like she'd be at home drinking beer in a bar or in a gown at a ball. And she can sing like nobody's business, and I am a total sucker for a sexy singing voice.

    5. Zatanna. There's something very appealing about that knowing twinkle in her eye and the slight smile that says she probably approves of whatever you're thinking, and she fills out the tux better than just about anyone. Probably got some of the best legs in comics too. I gotta admit, I've never really thought of Zee as "sexy" but trying to think of who #5 would be she seemed about the only really viable option.....though I also considered Vixen and Roxy Rocket and Power Girl and a few others, and Shay Veritas would probably get my vote here if her character hadn't taken a weird detour in the pages of Supergirl (I really was digging that crazy skin tone/hair color combo and her weird skintight science outfit and the mystery of who she was, as well as her intellect; that was one damn smart woman!).

    Men.

To this day I don't get what women find appealing about guys. But I'll give it a shot. In no particular order.

    1. Kyle Rayner. I'm guessing, in keeping with his "everyman" archetype, Kyle's probably not *that* good looking. Like, good looking in an above average sorta way, but not stopping traffic. But he's a sweet, sensitive guy in touch with his emotions and he's an artist. And women love artists.

    2. Kaldur'am/Aqualad. Stoic and calm but with hints of a deeper passion lurking beneath the surface, with great skin and pretty eyes. Hell, even *I* think Kaldur's kinda pretty.

    3. Bruce Wayne. Tall, handsome, intense and brooding. Looks good in a suit. Seems almost textbook doesn't it?

    4. Ollie Queen. He's passionate and really believes in his cause and helping the little guy. He can cook one hell of a chili. A great outdoorsman and capable of taking care of himself. And emotionally broken and jackass-y, which a lot of women seem to be drawn to? A little shaggy, but some girls like that too.

    5. John Stewart. Black, bald, and beautiful. He's smart as hell, and being an architect is sort of like being an artist who can also build stuff. A soldier's discipline and the passion of an angry black man who matured out of his "pissed off at everyone, chip on his shoulder" phase. I imagine John would make women feel very safe and protected.
I see your "BOO" and I accept it with pride, the decision stands!

I love these kinds of threads, making them or reading them, it's always interesting seeing which characters people gravitate toward in different contexts. sure they're two dimensional "pretty pictures" so the characters are often hyper-idealized, but it's all iconography, the way people internalize what messages and ideas from which character is what makes them feel real, ya know? you notice interesting patterns in how people interpret the characters and you see how interpretations and tastes change as the imagery of the era change. sometimes there's a perspective that I hadn't considered and it gives a whole new context to a character.

I dig your list, a lot of overlap with my intial list with similar reasoning. good taste i see

I don't know so much about 'in world'. But i know my thoughts.

    1. Superman. He has a great physique. One of my first impressions of him was a Jeph Loeb cover. This one.

    https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteIm...K309612?type=1

And i was mightily impressed by those guns. I am quite fond of the mullet. And T-shirt Superman from New 52 was great. Apart from great action i loved how those used to get torn up quite frequently. Apart from the bad*ssery, you get to show 'em during an action sequence.

    2. Batman. In comics he's quite battle scarred. That looks cool with a great physique. And i like'em some chest hair. They look quite manly.

    https://i1.wp.com/www.seanpcarlin.co.../batman244.jpg

Tbh, my list ends at #2. But i can yet make a top 5.

    3. Jimmy Olsen. He is a man of many disguises and transformations. Energetic. Adventurous. And quite easily trumps Superman in the show 'em department if the recent comics are any indication.

    4. Green Arrow. Its the beard, man. You have got to show the man some respect. Just that tiny detail indicates that here is a man who makes his own way. Billionaire dressed as Robin's Hood's merrymen shooting boxing glove arrows.

    5. Darkseid. Is there another villain or hero who rocks a skirt like Darkseid? I doubt that.

    Among the women.

    1. Wonder Woman. I doubt that i have seen an incarnation where she isn't awesome. She was one of my two cartoon crushes when i was younger. There's so much to love about Wonder Woman. Currently, my favorite is Gal Gadot's accent.

    2. Lois Lane. The reason i rank her lower then Diana is because she isn't the most beautiful in all incarnations. Which brings her down a notch on a list like this. Dana Delany's take/voice is an eternal favorite. Not to mention the skirt. I am a big fan of her in her normal days as well as the times she is dressed as Superwoman.

    3. Big Barda. I love her no nonsense attitude backed by her power. She's a big woman with a big heart and a bigger punch.

    4. Catwoman. 'nuff said. That lady is way too sexy to come at #4. Only reason she isn't ranked higher is because i am not a big fan of her character as i am not a big fan of villains/anti heroes. But i make an exception to her. (I guess i have more in common with Batman, then i thought).

    5. Donna Troy. I haven't read a lot of her comics. But the Convergence issues and the Rebirth Titans comics made quite an impression as the wiser one. Not to mention the beauty and the costume.

They are a lot of fun. And this has made me consider these characters in a way I usually don't (even as a hormonal teenager this was never something I thought about....except maybe Kory).

Since I "cheated" and put Dick as #1 for men, I should probably amend my earlier list. Without Dick, everyone else gets bumped up a number (Clark, Bruce and Hal are all pretty close and variable in their order though), and add either Simone's Catman or AquaMoa.

It's definitely a personal preference thing. Babs is a hot, brainy red head. I've crushed on her since I was little, and she's my redhead of choice from Gotham (Sorry Ivy! You're stunning, but also creepy!)*. Especially in the DCAU where she was drawn in short skirts.

Dinah and Helena are great to, but I don't think she's typically drawn as any less attractive than them aside from putting glasses on her as shorthand for her being more "nerdy," and even that doesn't really work.

*I may remove Ivy from my list. A lot of her hotness goes hand in hand with her creepiness. Harley is off for the same reason, I love her and Margot Robbie is stunning but the psycho clown girl being so dangerous kind of kills the mood. Maybe swap out Ivy for Zatanna.

Mera, Queen of the Seven Seas.

Lois Lane, if we're talking Amy Adams.

He's too "safe" whether as Superman or Clark for the most part to be termed traditionally "sexy." Corn-fed farmboy or god-like paragon. Neither archetype really oozes sex.

Mon-El though ... those thousand years in the phantom zone gave him just enough angst to make him sexy.

I've always loved the 70's Supergirl in the shorts and blouse. For me that's her iconic look.

I dont read the first post and others but I would say:

    FEMALES:

tried to make a list with Nr. 1 etc. but its to hard, so in no order:

-RAVEN (https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/...20160207201744) this older Version in THIS OUTFIT!
    -POWER GIRL
-CASSANDRA SANDSMARK (especially as Wonder Woman in DC Rebirth...She looked way better than Diana....AWESOME)
    -Black Canary
-ARTEMIS of Bana (I mean LOOK at how she looked as Wonder Woman and in Requiem)
-the Pre-Flashpoint Version of Diana (Requiem etc.)
-Catwoman (but here also the Pre-Flashpoint violet Costume with long Hairs Version)
    -Batwoman
-KNOCKOUT!!! (many people forget her, but she was AWESOME!! Hot Bisexual Red-Haired Stripper with Super-Strenght!!)

For Males is hard to say, because they are displayed often very different but depending on the Look NEW52 Superman on the Covers of SUPERMAN UNCHAINED..with the wild blue/black hairs etc.
