I bought this thinking it would tie to the Ketch book coming out. It was alright,Blade actually felt like Blade.

I do hope that the new book actually focuses on the brothers, and isn't a stealth attempt at launching another Robbie book.

Let him stay on the Avengers for a year or two, see if he can spin off a solo then, possibly when his TV series hits.

Yeah, Blade was one of the few characters I felt were written with their 'usual' voice.

His "usual" voice is his Wesley Snipes movie voice, though, no? That seems easier to copy.

Anyway, I'm curious where he's going with this Robbie Reyes story. It seems posed to retcon the character to bring him into the Ghost Rider pantheon without necessarily removing what's existed so far. Also, the visual image of that highway is pretty cool. The Tony Stark story could be interesting and I like seeding storylines well in advance. It's basically Time's Arrow from Star Trek: The Next Generation so far.

ETA: There was also a one-page Hawkeye and Hawkeye backup. I'd like that to be an ongoing thing.

Just saw picture of Hellstorm redesign and it's awful really terrible another character Aaron has ruined Thor, Odin, She Hulk and now Hellstorm lm just going prentend this is fake clone of Hellstorm and the real one is in Strikeforce.

Bald, goatee, and coat is a much more striking visual than Caucasian male with pants and pentagram, head occasionally on fire.

just because something is striking does not make it good. i prefer his other rockstar look. having the pentagram on the chest already makes him visually distinctive.

Went to re-read Aaron's older Ghost Rider stories and its the design he used for Hellstrom there too

There is a mild connection to the Mephisto cliff-hanger of last issue - because Mephisto is from Hell, so is Hellstrom, so is Ghost Rider.

Just curious about the Ghostrider stuff considering the new book but yeesh that redesign.

It's not particularly bad but it's just not all that great considering what we had prior. The coat is fine but the goatee is not only on the nose but looks awful. Maybe it's the artwork but that feels like change for the sake of change and not even a good one at that. There's also a different looking (is that a scar version?) of the pentagram and I have to ask, what was wrong with fire or paint? Sure it might please the edge lords, but there isn't anything wrong with the prior look that it needed a redesign.

It honestly looks closer to what the Ultimate universe might've done back in the 2000s.
