What do you mean by "referential"?

    Important Black Panther runs:

Don McGregor's "Panther's Rage' (now available in a single volume essentials collection)
Christopher Priest's Marvel Knights: Black Panther
    Jonathan Hickman's New Avengers
Ta-Nehisi Coates' A Nation Under Our Feet.

Referential - anything you consider seminal(classic) about this guy.

    Christopher Priests' run

    Reggie Hudlins' run

    David Liss' run

    BP vs Deadpool

A mini series called "Rise of the Black Panther" is a good book for beginners who want to get a lot of information in a short period of time.

Flags of our Father's doesn't feature T'Challa but it's good read.

Also "See Wakanda and Die" by Jason Aaron.

Don't know if this counts, but my all-time favorite Black Panther moment will always be the confrontation between T'Challa and Ultron from...

    Avengers #162

If you're asking about Avengers #162, this particular issue came out in 1977. Eventually, it might be collected in one of those "epic collections" that Marvel puts out sporadically every year.
