Default What are the most important storylines for your favorite characters?

Marvel has been flooded with stories and events in recent years, and they keep saying that they will "change x characters forever" and so on. And to be fair, some have done so. In terms of your favorite characters, what are the most important storylines for them?

Ex: Spiderman has The Clone Saga, The Death of Gwen Stacy and The Symbiote Saga.

Nova. Annihilation is obviously the most important story ever for him. Its where he graduated from being a "teen" superhero relegated to teen teams like the New Warriors to being one of Marvel's heavy hitters.

Still makes me sad to see how they basically just threw him away for Spam Alexander a few years later.

    Importance is a loaded word.

    Anyway I would pick:

    Dr. Doom:
-- Secret Wars 1984 [Doom becomes God, and the protagonist and star of the first Marvel event title and the best-selling comic of the '80s]
-- Triumph and Torment [Doom saves his mother's soul from Mephisto]
-- Emperor Doom [Doom takes over the world]
-- Infamous Iron Man [Doom's first full ongoing as a hero and legacy character]

    Spider-Man
-- The Master Planner Saga (Peter goes to college and becomes an adult).
-- ASM Annual #21 (Peter gets married)
-- New Avengers #1-3 (Peter joins the Avengers)
-- Civil War (Peter's identity gets unmasked in Marvel's biggest selling event comic)
-- Spider-Men II (Peter meets Miles Morales, his most popular, successful and beloved of all legacy characters and crosses to the Ultimate Universe

    Black Panther
-- Fantastic Four #52-53 [His debut where he kicks the FF's ass]
-- "Panther's Rage" by Don McGregor where T'Challa fights the KKK [Marvel's first proto-graphic novel and a classic of that time]
-- Christopher Priest's Marvel Knights: Black Panther [For planting the seeds for T'Challa becoming A-List]
    -- Jonathan Hickman's New Avengers [T'Challa becomes A-List baby]
-- Ta-Nehisi Coates' A Nation Under Our Feet [T'Challa oversees Wakanda transitioning to Constitutional Monarchy]

"We live in a world of cowards. We live in a world full of small minds who are afraid. We are ruled by those who refuse to risk anything of their own. Who guard their over bloated paucities of power with money. With false reasoning. With measured hesitance. With prideful, recalcitrant inaction. With hateful invective. With weapons. F@#K these selfish fools and their prevailing world order." Tony Stark

Thor: Walt Simonson's entire run should suffice.

Thanos: The Final Threat & Infinity Gauntlet would be good places to start (along with Starlin's Warlock).

Silver Surfer: The Galactus Trilogy is a definite must-read.

    Daredevil:

    Gosh, where to begin?
His origin story by Lee and then to tie into that the later updated version, Man Without Fear by Miller.
Miller made such an impact on the character, I would argue his entire run is important to the character!
    Born Again

Bendis: Again several important arcs in here, particularly his identity becoming public and going to jail at the end of his run.

    Spider-Man:
    Amazing Fantasy 15
I would agree with much of Jack's additions earlier.
I would add Back in Black after the Civil War arc.

    Peter Quill:
The Star Lord mini-series that was tied into Annihilation
DNA's run on the character and then ignore everything that came afterwards.

    Scott Lang:
    Avengers 181
    Marvel Premier 47
    Nick Spencer's run
    AKA FlashFreak
    Favorite Characters:
DC: The Flash (Jay & Wally), Starman- Jack Knight, Stargirl, & Shazam!.
MARVEL: Daredevil, Spider-Man (Peter Parker), & Doctor Strange.

    Current Pulls: Not a thing!
