Default Agent Axis - Golden Age and retconned "Golden Age" villains

Okay, this one could get confusing since DC had more than one "Agent Axis", and in-between the two, Marvel also had one!

The first DC version of Agent Axis was introduced in Boy Commandos #1 (Winter 1942-1943), though the Newsboy Legion and the Sandman showed up in the story before the Boy Commandos.

    to be continued . . .

Agent Axis was listed as the villain for a few other Boy Commandos stories in their own title and in their feature in Detective Comics during 1943 and 1944.

Then, in Marvel Comics' Tales of Suspense #82 (October 1966), in a Captain America story by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, we had this:

And in 1977's Invaders Annual #1, Roy Thomas would introduce "Agent Axis" to that series.

In World's Finest Comics #250 (April-May 1978), DC introduced a second "Agent Axis" in an extended story teaming up Superman, Batman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, and the Earth-2 Golden Age Wonder Woman (all of whom were regularly featured in the $1.00-sized World's Finest Comics at that time).

NOTE: At the time of this story, Black Canary was still the original Golden Age version that had originally been a member of the JSA on Earth-2 before crossing over to Earth-1 and joining the JLA.
(It would be a few more years until Black Canary would be retconned into being a mother AND her daughter!)

And now, the rest of the Agent Axis story from Boy Commandos #1 (Winter 1942-1943):

    "The Boy Commandos never fail"?!?

Methinks somebody was computing their poultry before they were fully incubated . . .
