Kind of liked these Garfield comic strips.

Also don't forget the "is Garfield dead?" Halloween strip! (note this story is more or less a bad dream Garfield is having for Halloween.)

Loved this one to bits as a kid. My sis and I still quote it from time to time.

    Gaastra:

The strip above cracked me up again, I spilled my coffee at work and everyone looked at me funny.

Its just a simple line: Garfield, when we get to the campsite, what's the first thing you would like to do?

    Go home...

    That got me, too.

This one upset me as a kid. I thought Garfield had been eaten. Lol.

No. This is wrong. It's Disney who needs to buy Garfield.
The Gypsies had no home. The Doors had no bass.

Does our reality determine our fiction or does our fiction determine our reality?

Whenever the question comes up about who some mysterious person is or who is behind something the answer will always be Frank Stallone.

Well, they already own just about everything else.

I always hated Garfield. Back in the day, I didn't know that Jim Davis had cynically created the comic strip to get rich. But I could tell that this was the motive, because it was drawn in such a cookie-cutter fashion and the gags were all the same tired-out gags, over and over again. It stood out for me in contrast to all the good comic strips where you could see that the creator was always trying to come up with something fresh.

One time, it must have been in the early '80s, I was travelling across Canada by bus and I got stuck sitting next to this kid on the bus. She was a nice enough kid, but she had this Garfield book and she kept showing me different pages that she thought were really funny. And because I wanted to be a good person, I had to keep my opinions to myself and smile and pretend that it was funny, too. This was like my own version of hell. It just kept going on and on like that with this kid showing me one Garfield after another after--like a nightmare I couldn't wake up from.

    Funny story

If its cookie cutter or not doesn't bother me. Most of the 80´s cartoons were cookie cutter (Motu, She-Ra, G.I Joe etc.)

But I am more like the girl. When I read Garfield I almost laugh about every single strip more or less. That Jim wanted to get rich with Garfield doesn't count for me, for anything. The only thing that matters, I this case is, that I am entertained.

That is literally the worst reason I can think of to give them more properties.
