No. This is wrong. It's Disney who needs to buy Garfield.

I always hated Garfield. Back in the day, I didn't know that Jim Davis had cynically created the comic strip to get rich. But I could tell that this was the motive, because it was drawn in such a cookie-cutter fashion and the gags were all the same tired-out gags, over and over again. It stood out for me in contrast to all the good comic strips where you could see that the creator was always trying to come up with something fresh. Originally Posted by DanMad1977

She was a nice enough kid, but she had this Garfield book and she kept showing me different pages that she thought were really funny. Funny story
If its cookie cutter or not doesn't bother me. Most of the 80´s cartoons were cookie cutter (Motu, She-Ra, G.I Joe etc.)
But I am more like the girl. When I read Garfield I almost laugh about every single strip more or less. That Jim wanted to get rich with Garfield doesn't count for me, for anything. The only thing that matters, I this case is, that I am entertained.
