    Morrison's run (any 2010s parts)
    The Black Mirror
    The Court of Owls
    Death of the Family
    Superheavy
All-Star Batman Vol. 1: My Own Worst Enemy
    Dark Nights Metal
Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

    Zero Year
Detective Comics Vol. 1: Rise of the Batmen
    Superheavy
Tom King's post-#50 run (Cold Days, Tyrant Wing, Knightmares, Fall and the Fallen, City of Bane)
    Black Mirror
Assorted issues: Grayson: Future's End; Detective Comics 35-36: Terminal; Batman 19-20: Nowhere Man; Detective Comics 1000
All-Star Batman Vol. 1: My Own Worst Enemy and Vol.2: Ends of the Earth are worth checking out

The jury is still out on Last Knight on Earth and Creature of the Night; they might also shape up to be classics.

Default Best Batman stories of the past ten years?

Saw someone made a thread like this over on the Spider-Man section, thought why not have one for Batman too? Favorite stories of this decade. Batfamily counts, so Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, other titles are up to be listed.

For me, in no particular order (and sorry if I don't manage a full ten):
    1. Batman: The White Knight - Interesting elseworld, well done.
    2. Batman Earth One - I'm a bit in the minority, but I liked seeing such a grounded Batman having to struggle and fail until ultimately saving the day.
    3. Batman: Zero Year - One of the gems of the New52, this is just a really, really great origin story. Fan blasphemy, but I prefer it over Year One.
    4. Batgirl of Burnside - Only read the first volume/trade/whatever, but it was hella fun even if the story didn't feel impactful.
    5. Batman: Court of Owls - Such a good villain group idea that really meshes in well with the tone of Batman.
    6. The War of Jokes and Riddles - Definitely not a classic, but a pretty good year two story regardless and holy crap it made me care about Kite Man! Freaking Kite Man!

Okay, so not quite ten, but for a newbie who only really started reading comic books this decade not bad. What's your list?

I think Morrison's run started in 06, so I'd say "any part of his run from October 2009 until it concluded" is my #1.

The rest, in no particular order:

    2. Batman #5 (New 52), the labyrinth issue of Court of Owls. My #1 favorite single issue of all time.
    3. Black Mirror
    4. Death of the Family
    5. Dark Nights: Metal
    6. Batman: Graveyard Shift tpb (a nice collection of one shots from Snyder's run)
    7. Court of Owls saga (Batman 1-12, New 52)
    8. Batman/Superman vol 1 (New 52)
    9. Batman: The White Knight
    "Darkseid...always hated music..."

Every post I make, it should be assumed by the reader that the following statement is attached: "It's all subjective. What works for me doesn't necessarily work for you, and vice versa, and that's ok. You may have a different opinion on it, but this is mine. That's the wonderful thing about being a comics fan, it's all subjective."

We all forgot Batman Annual #3 by Tom Taylor. That would definitely make my amended list.

    The Black Mirror
Batman Annual #2 (King, Weeks, Lark, Breitweiser) (and the whole run, but that's pretty big...though my next choice makes me think about that...)
Detective Comics by Tynion (it's kind of all one big thing)
    Batman Inc vol 1.
    Deathstroke vs. Batman by Priest
