What completely ruined the space Kamala arc was her parents forgetting about the whole thing. What was the point of that?!
Those are books sold to stores.
As others have said ti does not include every venue of sale. Despite the trolls who want to use comicchron as a weapon to attack certain types of books-it is not the end all.
It does not include online sellers like Ebay.
It does not include re-sellers like Half Price books or Movie Trading post.
It might not include subscriptions.
And if a book like Savage Dragon is only tossing out 1000-that does not mean it's a failure. Because one has to account how many copies it sold. If a store is ordering it-it means someone is buying it. IN a lot of cases that might be 2 copies at a store and that is all that sales.
Meanwhile while a book like Batman might have 100K-how many are being bought? Because places like Ebay & Half Price don't have issues with not having enough copies to sell. How many of his books are ending up in long boxes or grab bags sold cheap. Because that is how Movie Trading post gets their comics as I recently learned.
People are going to buy those books at the price they are willing to pay.
For books like Batman who get large orders for the heck of it-it doesn't hurt him. Now for Ms Marvel-her trade sales allow it to not hurt her. Moon Girl-you will be LUCKY to see her book in a bin same with Miles Morales. So stores benefit from them. West Coast Avengers & Mosaic that is not a good thing thus you get an axed book and regrets.
There was editorial interference with Exiles. Remember, it's usually an X book, but this version was part of the Avengers office (that's why it reused an old logo instead of having one that matched the other X-Men titles). That's why the majority of the team were non-mutants, and probably why the old characters were shoved aside.

Ok, while I agree with the general point you are trying to make, yes, this is only a section of the sales, they are not the full picture, but they are all we have available to us. but in regards to eBay and resellers... I mean, it's not like Marvel counts those either. The publishers make zero money from resellers. If they are placing an order with Diamond to get the copies they are selling, like it is a comic shop that also sells on eBay or something, they are counted in these charts. But speculators flipping copies are not. their initial purchase was counted, sort of, sure, but the sale to a reader later on is not. So those sales are not going to contribute to the bottom line of how profitable a book is, at least not as much, especially if you are buying a copy someone has read. If you are interested in supporting a book that may be struggling, only purchase through a means where you can be sure some money is getting back to the publisher, otherwise they won't give a damn about that sale.
Besides comic shops, Comixology and other digital sales will count, as will trades and subscriptions. Though the publishers do give some preference to single issue sales, so if a book is really on the edge, it would be better to go for single issues, but trades can carry a book in some cases, like Squirrel Girl.
And on the subject of subscriptions, I really don't know about that one. Midtown Comics handles Marvel's print subscriptions, I am not sure though if Marvel ships the subbed issues to them bypassing Diamond, like apparently happens with Scholastic, or if they are added to their usual Diamond order. though considering all print subscriptions are discounted by 40% of cover price, I am leaning towards bypassing Diamond.

Did Invisible Woman have a lot of variants? Nevertheless, nice to see a strong start for Sue .
Savage Avengers seems to have more legs then I gave it credit for, at least compared to other Avengers spinoffs.
Actually all of Marvel's major team books (except Champions) seem to be doing fairly well, if not Justice League numbers.
40K seems reasonable for Jane under a new, not market-successful, name for herself. It's not going to sell as well as she did as Thor. But it did outsell Thor on it's first issue, so...you win this round, Dr. Foster :P.
This has got to be the most successful Captain Marvel run since DeConnick in that it's sales haven't tanked by the eighth issue. Maybe all that waiting for the movie finally paid off.
Iron Man's sales seem to be sagging a little, especially compared to the rest of the Avengers Trinity.
I guess it's no wonder they're prepping something new with Strange with his sales getting closer and closer to 20K.
I have to wonder whether it helped that Aero visually looks like a very attractive anime heroine in a very skintight outfit.
Aero has Wave. So it's the midriff that counts. Obviously.
Invisible Woman has Adam Hughes.
I don't blind date I make the direct market vibrate
To clarify that: here in the U.S., Diamond is the source that provides the single-issue comic books to comic book shops.
"Books" to some could also include collected editions / trade paperbacks, and those are available to stores here in the United States other than comic book shops (like Barnes & Noble stores) through services that are not Diamond, but about a week or so later than they are made available to comic book shops through Diamond.
How / where comic books are available outside of the United States may be totally different than how things are done here in the U.S., and considering that not all the people who use this forum are from the U.S., it helps to be more specific in terminology used.
Yeah, there's a Diamond UK, but they also only do comic shops. 2000AD notably is also sold in newsstands, and seems to be distributed by someone else, even in the US (notice how it's not on the sales charts?). Some comics, like The Beano, are ONLY sold in newsstands and supermarkets, not the specialist shops. They use magazine distributors instead (Menzies or WHSmith, I think?) - I don't know why US publishers don't do that, using magazine distributors to get into supermarkets rather than selling exclusively through Diamond.

Invisible Woman was overshipped (by 100% I think), which is why it’s dollar revenue is much lower than its unit sales. Same for sword master, although Aero surprisingly was not. It would be interesting to see what the sales of the currently overshipped titles will be like next issue. As for Dr Strange...it was never the best seller, even back in the day. Waid is doing better than Cates (and basically everyone after Aaron), although Aaron did sell better than both likely because of the proximity to the movies. I wonder what marvel’s expectations of the title even is

Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?
