I feel like I should probably put one of Johns' stories in there but I haven't read any in years so I'm not sure how they hold up. Well, I did reread Rogue War fairly recently and I didn't like it much at all...
And I'm really torn that I couldn't find space for Loebs' brilliant one shot of Wally saving the woman after they're both ejected from a plane mid-flight (#54, I believe).
Barry Allen definitely needed to be represented so I included what is, by a million miles, the two books that best represent the character to me, even if one is technically a JLA story.

Flash #123 (Flash of Two Worlds)
Flash #0
Flash #54 (Nobody Dies)
Flash #62-65 (Year One)
Flash #73-79 (Return of Barry Allen)
Flash #92-100 (Reckless Youth/Terminal Velocity)
Flash #134 (Still Life in the Fast Lane)
Covers all bases, Jay, Barry, Wally and Bart plus a little Max and Jesse for good measure!
"My name is Wally West. I'm the fastest man alive!"
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
Secret Origins Annual 2
Flash of Two Worlds
Flash 275 - 284 (Death of Iris)
Return of Barry Allen
Dead Heat
Flashpoint
Flash War
Tried to hit as many eras of the book as I could in my list. That Secret Origins annual is still the definitive Barry origin to me.
It matters to me that all eras are represented, so if I only had 7--
I'd start with the GOLDEN AGE FLASH ARCHIVES so you get the very first Flash stories from 1940-41.
Then I'd move onto Barry and THE FLASH: THE SILVER AGE, Vol. 1 to get the earliest stories of the current and best known Flash from 1956-60.
From then I'd want to space them out pretty evenly so what could we do from the following periods?
The late 60s
The early 80s
The mid 90s
The mid 2000s
The late 2010s
