Like most of the Great Old Ones, Nyarlathotep is useless in Rumbles because he has no feats.

The only interest I have in Nyarlathotep is in the Laundry Files series. There he is the PM of the UK and seems in conflict with Cthulhu taken over the USA.

Switch him out with Megami Tensei's Nyarlathotep.
...Not that it'd change much.

What about the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 one, that, IIRC, was marking rumors become reality and kinda-sorta caused the universe to reboot itself.
