I can't take this seriously, when they've left off the freaking FANTASTIC FOUR and the X-MEN????

The difference would be that the FF and X-Men are more family units rather than assemblies of random heroes.

This new team apparently would be in the latter category so comparisons to the FF and X-Men wouldn't apply.

Based on the delbriately cheesy title, I would think there's an element of humor involved here. Curious to hear more.

Just bring back the classic Defenders. Hulk, Strange, Valkkyrie, Hellcat and always-changing lineup of additional members -- Namor, Surfer, Ghost Rider, Red Guardian II, Nighthawk, Hellstorm, etc.

I don’t think we can have the hulk or Namor back in their current incarnations; Jane foster might be an interesting addition.
