Default Disney-Sony Standoff Ends Marvel Studios Involvement In 全pider-Man'

    https://deadline.com/2019/08/kevin-f...er-1202672545/

EXCLUSIVE: Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige won稚 produce any further Spider-Man films because of an inability by Disney and Sony Pictures to reach new terms that would have given the former a co-financing stake going forward. A dispute that has taken place over the past few months at the top of Disney and Sony has essentially nixed Feige, and the future involvement of Marvel from the Spider-Man universe, sources said.

I'm shocked! SHOCKED! Completely at awe that Sony would take this decision!

I hated MCU Spider-Man so much. This is gonna piss off a lot of people though....but I was pissed off when I saw what Marvel did to Spider-Man. I just hope it works out for the best with Spidey going forward...

Not sure I have it in me to go through another Spidey Reboot.

I'm hoping that this is just a set back and a deal can still be done. I really love Tom Hollands Spiderman.

Well, you'll still get two more movies with him.

This seems like a really dumb move on Sony's part but whatever. Spidey will survive. I imagine they'll resolve the cliffhanger of Far From Home but just have to do it without referencing the MCU. Worst comes to worst, they can have that tag scene be just a dream. A bullshit way out but desperate times call for desperate measures.

As much as I've enjoyed having Spidey in the MCU, he can certainly thrive outside of it, with the proper handling. Whether Sony can do that, we'll see.

I don't think it's out of the question that the two parties will decide to go back to the bargaining table and hammer out a deal. At least just to arrange a more graceful transition for the character.

So is MCU Spidey just going to stop existing after that cliffhanger? That blows. Wonder if they could pick up that story in a cartoon.

Sucks for Tom Holland really enjoyed him in the role.

This is going to be like when you decide not to call the plumber and make the fudge yourself and end up flooding the house.

Yah that billion dollar take must have burned Disney's britches. Although the new films didn't piss me off, they were a little too Disney teen film for my tastes in a lot of respects.

The real question is what kind of revenge will Disney now be plotting?

I second this as I was never a fan of what the MCU Spider-man turned out to be. I am so glad this is over.

I'm with you, my friend. Tony Stark Jr. and his not so lovable crew of second rate ripoffs are dead. What a wonderful day.

100% agreed. I just hope whatever films Sony makes now are on the level of like Spider-Verse and Spider-Man 2, and they've learned their lessons regarding executive meddling.

I’m hoping for some of that PS4 style Spidey.
