Yeah, now we'll get to hear the couple people who hated the MCU Spidey whine about it.

X-23: "I know there are people who disapprove... Guys on the Internet mainly."

So just the original contract terms, no 50% cut for Disney. Sounds like a win for Sony.

Good. Disney is problematic enough already.

Not that I like Sony either.

On the one hand, I was honestly more interested in what Sony would do alone than another MCU Spidey movie (and I'm still kind of lost why so many people prefer this version), but on the other might be worth it just to get people to stop the damn Sony/Disney bickering.

I’m one or the rare people in the middle on this. I was actually interested to see what’s Sony would do and possibly get a more adult mature version of the character with Tom Holland at the helm. I love Tom Holland but this version of the character just doesn’t resonate with me as much as other people. So I mean hoping for the best, but like I said....won’t lie. I’m not ecstatic for this...One positive is that hopefully it ends all these personal arguments that get way too childish regarding the Sony vs Disney camp.

Its pretty rare that you see Disney back off so completely, though. Could Spider-Man actually be too big to fail?

Makes me think that Sony might be worried that Morbius (and maybe Venom 2) is going to flop hard and they have at least agreed that giving Peter a solid exit into the Venomverse via a third film is essential.

Apparently the deal also mentions Holland having a cameo in another MCU film? Curious which one that might be. Feels like Black Widow is out too soon (though they could have something parallel to Homecoming given the time period) and both Eternals and Shang Chi don't sound likely. Doctor Strange 2? Maybe Peter coming round to try and get his identity erased?

EDIT: Forgot that Morbius and Venom 2 are out next year, my bad.

Disney appears to have a 25% share right now as opposed to the 5% from before. And now Peter can be in the Venomverse movies, which might mean they'll eventually be in the MCU. It's a win overall.

I think this might be more related with the whole sale deal. They're probably at advanced talks with another company and some higher ups want to squeeze as much as they can before fully selling so they agreed to whatever Disney put on the table.
