Default Classic Strange vs. Silver Surfer

    616. Arena.

Stephen somehow has Wally West level speedforce speed.

BONUS: No speedforce, but Strange is in his Sanctum. Surfer starts just outside of NYC.

    Both rounds to Stephen.

Both should go to Strange, especially with Classic Strange's Sanctum not jobbing on its defenses.

Im not disagreeing with the consensus here, just genuinely curious in which specific areas do you feel Strange has the edge and therefore the victory?

Norrin makes a black hole - Strange plugs it
Crimson Bands? Intangibility or turning into water vapor to escape.
    Transmuting? Auto shields kick in.
Raw power? Both are planet busters who have beefy defenses.

Feels like it pretty well cancels out on paper.

Neither intangibility nor transformation to vapour will help against the Bands, to start with.

He’d need to go into the micro verse if Stephen sets up the Bands as ‘targeting’, and I don’t see why he wouldn’t.

    These things capture Astral forms.

When it comes down to it, Classic Strange is just dipping into a far deeper well of power and once he gets going with that he could just overwhelm Norrin on sheer might while all else gets canceled out and compensated for.

    Fair points.

We’ve had threads of Strange versus Thanos where it boils down to ‘Thanos wins because he can probably overwhelm Stephen quickly before the good stuff gets running.’

In this thread, especially, Norrin can’t.

    It's because of two things.

    1) Classic Stephen dressed like a champ.
    2) Sexy sexy facial hair.
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

So...Stephen's win over the In-Betweener? Was that legit? I remember reading that book. Left quite an impression. I know classic Strange was ridiculously OP...but legitimately moreso than IB?

In-Betweener’s power levels were kinda all over the place in the early years. He’s a bit like Stranger, in that they knew he was powerful and important but didn’t really nail it down any further than that.
