I always wanted to see Red Hulk (Ross), U.S. Agent (Walker) and War Machine (Rhodes) in a team together. Some kind of covert operation military type team with brutal missions.

That would be cool. Get someone like Ed McGuinness on art duty, and just go to town.
I could see opening up the first issue, page 1 is just the three of them as talking heads, getting ready to deploy as their ship enters the designated airspace. Where, we don’t know.
Flip that page and pages 2 and 3 are a spread of them from behind, facing what we see to be Latveria. Dr. Doom right off the bat; go big or go home!

Ares (as the 'team Thor') and the third Ant-Man (O'Grady) might make a neat sort of 'gritty Avengers' along with those three.

Not immediately thinking of a good 'Wasp' for such a group. Yelena (the second Black Widow) might fit well tho.

They could add the Ultimate Red Wasp. She'd fit right in and it's not like they haven't moved tons of UU characters to 616 continuity.
I do think Rhodes would be somewhat out of place, maybe he could be the team's conscience.
This could be a really cool new Thunderbolts line-up now that I think about it. Add Barney Barton as the Hawkeye and there you have it.

First couple issues could be a problem since not much action happens, but there are a few character interaction that I feel could pay off big time once the run is over.

One little spoiler: once is all said and done, Strange is not the Sorcerer Supreme.
