Default History of the Marvel Universe #2: No sir, They're saying Siancong!

This continues to be a fun romp through marvel's history, though the siancong war retcon is silly, I can't hate it.

Still remains the most beautiful book Marvel is putting out.

I only read the article, not the comic but they didn't Mention Tony Stark's accident - are they putting that (back) in Vietnam/Siancong or are they keeping that in the Middle East?

Sin-Cong is big brain. Bless the Waid. Bless the Rodriguez. So many of these panels just give me new life.

It has to be in Sin-Cong because he has to meet Rhodey. And the issue ends at FF #1, so they'll go over Tony in the next issue.

Not a huge fan of this general time period of Marvel and the art wasn't all the great this time, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

That's a smart movie. Easier to retcon these characters histories into a single fictional war rather than constantly retconning it into a real life war every couple decades. I think WW2 is one of the few fixed points in time you absolutely cannot change.

I recall that Namor was born in 1920, so wouldn't that mean he's about the same age as Steve Rogers and Blade?

Whatever legal issues they had with the Bradleys, it's been resolved. Eli's about to come back too, in Marvel Comics #1000.

Hopefully that means some Young Avengers love down the line.

I have been advocating using Sin-Cong as a stand-in for Nam for years (though I think it should also be for the Korean War too... Prof X and Juggernaut). So pleased that is has been made official. It makes things make much more sense, and can bring Iron Man's origins back to where they belong.

Is there any solid source on the "legal issues with the Bradleys" stuff? I see commenters mention it all the time, but it's never really added up to me. If there was an issue with the character, wouldn't that have impacted their ability to reprint older material featuring the characters?
