Iceman seems like such a natural fit, I'm surprised he's never been on the team.

I liked seeing Sunfire on the Unity Team, but I'd want to see him on a regular Avengers roster where he can gain prominence and a little more development. He's been straddling the line between jerk and likable jerk for some time and an Avengers run might solidify his character, especially since his personality was conceived during a very different and at this point, outdated political environment.

Also, Storm (for a lineup that doesn't have Thor)

You can blame John Byrne for that, wanting a classic Frightful Four in his Spider-man run.

Sunfire was actually quite good on the Unity Squad, one of the few members who shockingly got on with the rest of the team.

Storm was a member but quit during AVsX

Idk I wanna see the Stepford Cuckoos on the team, the Avengers don’t really have telepaths or a hive mind on their side maybe on a splinter team

sunfire carried remender's avengers on his back
Our main character, a socially awkward outcast, gains newfound confidence and arrogance before committing a string of horrid acts. He then wears a fancy suit and proceeds to dance like a maniac to music that isn't actually there playing around him.

I'm still waiting for Galactus to come to his senses and recruit Madrox as his next herald. Not only would the Big G never miss a meal, but he'd a have every cupboard stocked with hundreds of planets to devour for decades at a time. And no one would dare bother a Galactus that could instantly have an infantry battalion of Power Cosmic heralds at the snap of Madrox's fingers.

I'd like to see Cyclops fill in as field commander for Captain America on an interim basis. Nothing permanent, just when Cap can't be with the team on important missions.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder.

Well, she'd be a fantastic Avenger anyway.

As of now, my pick would be either Kitty or Kurt.

My choice would be a re-powered Sofia Mantega (A.K.A. Wind Dancer)

I've always thought Dazzler would be a prime candidate. Her musical career and stardom would surely help cater to the needs of a team wanting to appease the public eye.
In addition, she works well with others, can kick some ass and will look good doing it. I could see Alison Blaire & Janet van Dyne getting along famously.

I'd also nominate Angel and/or Iceman, but it's partially dependent on who they're on the team with. The latter def needs to be hanging out with Hercules and/or Living Lightning for example so not to be a wasted opportunity
