My two favorite characters in Marvel are Spider-Man and Doctor Doom and the '80s were a good decade for them, so it was a good decade for Marvel. Doom basically became THE villain in that decade (Secret Wars, T&T, Emperor Doom) and Spider-Man experienced his peak in the '80s. Highest sales ever, his 25th Anniversary, his wedding.

I agree that the 1980's was one of Doom's peak periods. But no love here in this thread for Byrne's Fantastic Four? It is one of my favorite runs for the title. And it provides some key Doom stories in Terror in a Tiny Town, and Doom's return to power in 246-247. And we finally see Sue lose the name of Invisible Girl.

This is probably the only decade of the X-Men that I liked too besides that brief revival with Neal Adams on the art.
