SIAP elsewhere, but has any recent updates come out about the original trilogy being released on blu ray for the original unaltered version?

LucasFilm has told us they're not planning one and no reason to believe that's changed (since the motivation is to respect George Lucas's work on them).
Doctor Strange: "You are the right person to replace Logan."

Yeah, it's never going to happen because that would contradict Lucas' vision and they want to respect that.
