Has the same score as Captain Marvel. Shows why RT has no credibility too.

The vast majority of people don't like arthouse films.

I don't see why that is a surprise.

And people seem to be applauding and praising Phoenix, not the film itself.

Guess we will see, reviewers are frequently saying it has almost nothing DC about it.

Seriously, is this a surprise to anyone really? The initial reactions to Joker were a lot more positive than I expected because the film certainly was billed as a cautionary tale and being able to do something different the mainstream won't or can't (which Todd himself recently admitted was the intention). While films like that if very well made will be acclaimed as such, often times there is controversy regarding whether or not they highlighted the topical issue well or not (and most of said topical issues have varying stances and views) or whether or not highlighting it was a good thing in the first place.

For all the backhanded bragging that Joker was going to be a bold film, why are some bothered by people having negative opinions? Film is also an art, isn't it? It's been treated like one.

(Also funny how some like to say they don't care about RT but are bothered by the score dropping. Why don't we all just admit we like bragging about the stats and stop the pretending?)
There is a difference though between good and bad faith criticism.

People are using RT wrong again. Just because two movies have the same score doesnt mean the people who liked them thought they were of the same quality. 78% just mean 78% of the people who watched it didnt hate it. The more controversial a movies the lower the score will be. Anyway here go the conspiracies again, and people are gonna get upset a great movie( That they havent seen yet but they know its great) is getting lower scores then[ insert MCU movie here].

People also forget that getting the same score on a Math and English test does not mean they are the same test.

RT is a joke. A 76%, really? IMDB has it at a 9.6, which is the highest CBM score of all-time and is well known to be a more accurate score accumulator as a site judging by how little people complain about their ratings. RT is clearly unreliable, and not just Joker, I could add numerous examples involving DC and MCU films. Seriously, how can you give such a bad rating to a film that won an award in some European country?

    IMDB>RT.

It's a score based on reviews and as for DC and MCU on RT the irony is WB is the one who owns a piece of RT.

Hes being sarcastic. Took me awhile too catch on but all his posts are sarcastic posts making fun of the people complaining. He was killing it in the I hate the MCU thread.

Though Comcast now owns RT and WB just has a minority share. On the other hand several top executives of RT's parent company worked for Disney and still have close ties with current Disney executives.
So I guess the question is who are the top executives more loyal to? Their Disney friends or a company that has a lesser stake in their company.

IMDB is the worst one. Anyone can do those reviews even if they never saw the film!

The best one is cinemascore as it is only people who are coming out the showings.
