    Default A good starting place?

A few months ago I purchased the Spiderman cd rom. It has issues 1-500. I am currently on issuse 151. But I wanted to read some of the newer stuff as it looks pretty good. My interest was peaked by the Superior Spiderman the old and new one. So where is a good starting place for the current one of Spiderman? I want to keep reading the older stuff as well but like I said want to do some of the new stuff. Thanks in advance for the help.

Skip all of Dan Slotts run lol. Heh nah honestly if you want to read the modern stuff I would just try to hop onto Spencer’s run. It’s been really good through out especially if you’re a MJ fan. We are currently on issue 28 since they relaunched it and reset the numbers again...so you would have s few tpbs to pick up. But like I said, it’s been pretty solid. The best ASM has been in a real long time.

Also I’m not sure if you’ve been picking up other spider related stuff but trying snatching Spider-Man life story which was six issues and just finished . Easily an instant classic.

I would say the easiest thing to go with is to read the rest of the main series following Superior since you've just finished it. That would be:
    Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 3) #1-18 (+1.1-1.5, 16.1-20.1) (2014-2015)
    Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #1-5 (2015)
    Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 4) #1-32 (2015-2017)
    Amazing Spider-Man #789-801 (2017-2018)
which ends off Slott's run, followed by Nick Spencer's Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 5) which is up to 28 at the moment.

Would also say to check out Amazing Spider-Man #648-700. The "Big Time" era, which was the start of Dan Slott's run and directly leads into Superior by the end.

That is an excellent list. ASM 33 is my all time favorite comic but I would include 31-32 as well. Also 129 ( first Punisher appearance), ASM 42 ( first MJ appearance)

    Nick Spencer run.
And for completist's sake, the latest Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man run.

They are recent, of good quality and with the good mix of sadness and happiness, depth and levity. Exactly like every Spider-Man story should be.

That sounds like piracy to me. Comic books aren't officially released on CD.

Actually they are. I have the cd rom collection myself, it was officially released by Marvel a long time ago. It’s legit.

Yep, it's right here. Pretty damn amazing deal if I'm honest. If I had the money to spare I probably would try to invest in it.

If you liked Superior Spider-Man, it built on a new period of comics that kicked off with Amazing Spider-Man #546, so if you're the type of guy comfortable reading 100+ issues that would be one start.

A new run began last year, so that's an easier starting point (and a recommendation for anyone checking out this thread who might not be ready to read 150 issues).

These comics are all available on Marvel's Digital Unlimited service at a monthly fee.
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

For the newest stuff definitely start with Spencer’s latest run 1-28 so far starting last year summer 2018.

Other stuff I recommend is 290-350. This covers the period Peter and MJ are newly weds and has legendary art by McFarlane and Larsen.

I also recommend JMS which is going to be v2 #30- v1 545.
