It’s Watchmen. Like Dark Knight Returns, Year One, Sandman etc It will get endlessly reprinted in every format imaginable because it sells and newer readers will be always to look to pick it up.

It's an evergreen seller, and older editions were probably close to selling through, so time for a new edition, especially with a new HBO series on the way that might open up even more new audiences for the property.

DC is one of the few direct market publishers (Image being the other) that have broken through to creating evergreen sellers in the book trade, but instead of simply going back to press on the versions they already have, they rotate in new formats/editions with there stuff every so often, which not only pick up sales from new readers, but also collectors who will upgrade the edition they have or collect every edition but the main thrust on these types of books is to keep them in print as they keep selling in the book trade and finding new audiences.

Comic fans get the comics their buying habits deserve.
