In the early 1970s, Hawkman and Hawkgirl--law enforcers from Thanagar who have come to Earth to study police methods--meet Sam McCloud (Dennis Weaver)--a marshal from Taos, New Mexico, who has come to New York City to study police methods.

Oliver Queen is thrown back in time to old Seattle of the 1860s, where he meets the Bolt brothers--Jason (Robert Brown), Joshua (David Soul) and Jeremy (Bobby Sherman)--but runs afoul of Aaron Stemple (Mark Lenard).

In another howdunnit, Columbo investigates the murder of Ted Kord, gathering the clues against Max Lord.

When Rory Gilmore interns at the Daily Planet, she begins a doomed affair with Jimmy Olsen; meanwhile, Lorelai arrives in Metropolis to surprise Rory, but ends up trapped in the Planet elevator with Lois Lane.

Michael Steadman (Ken Olin) gets a job writing comics for BC editor-publisher, Bernie Cornfeldt, and is invited by fellow writer Denton Fixx to dinner with Fixx's family and friends--K.P. (Denton's sister), Brenda and Eddie Valentine, Guido Garibaldi and Sigfried Horatio Hunch III (aka 'Mazing Man). Michael's wife, Hope (Mel Harris), comes with him, but she's worried they won't be able to pay the rent on what Michael makes writing comics.
